Vasque AMP Trail Running Shoes - Women's - 2007

The Vasque Women's AMP Trail Running Shoes are built on an ultralight dual-density EVA midsole to give runners incredible agility on the trail. The AMP also features the super-grippy Talon sole for incredible traction on both wet and dry trails. When the going gets rough, Vasque's thermoplastic urethane plate supports the arch and forefoot to protect your feet and increase stability on uneven terrain. Great shoe

I love this shoe. My arch is very low and my feet are very narrow. The shoe is a bit wide but I can adjust the laces to work for me. This shoe works for the technical/rocky trails I train on. I never slide around on the loose rocks! I ran a 50K race in them and had no blisters or hot spots.

Comfy breathable but mesh is wimpy

Maybe I'm too hard on my shoes, but the mesh on these shoes is totally ripping apart now from little encounters with twigs and rocks. Other than that they've been great - very comfortable and you can feel the breeze through the shoe. But they didn't last very long.

I was nervous about buying trail running shoes online, but the Vasque Amp was rated highest all around trail running shoe by Health magazine in October ('05) and I couldn't go try them on near the area I live (not available). The magazine also said it was a very comfortable shoe for running around town. They were right! These feel great and have been just awesome for hiking and running. They look very sharp too. I am completely pleased!

Hiking shoes too small....

I don't understand the sizes as I usually wear a size 7 or 7 1/2, but this particular shoe was way too small. Either the size is incorrect or my foot has grown too much for a size 7 1/2.
