Voile Carbon Surf Telemark Ski - 2005

Mount up the Voile Carbon Surf Telemark Ski and see why these bomber skis have become a favorite for off-piste tele skiing and alpine touring. Regardless of your boot and binding set up, the Carbon Surf puts its controlled flex, light weight and wide waist to work for you. Long days in the skin track are made easier with skis as light as these. When you've reached the top and get to drop in to the goods, you'll notice the soft shovel surfing its way through deep snow and manky crud. Hand made in Utah with a wood core sandwiched between a dialed mix of carbon and fiberglass, these skis will easily prove their effectiveness on everything from corn to slush to powder.

Bottom Line: Surf's up.

Pure play Backcountry boards

By:
March 1, 2005

There is only one reason to buy these skis. Backcountry touring. I mounted these as AT skis with Dynafit bindings for an ultralight set up. I have skied them in a variety of conditions and have enjoyed them in all but deep mash potato snow. However, I would never dream of taking these into an area where they could encounter hardpack groomers.

My complaint with these skis is in their documentation. The specifications (lengths, widths...) are just plain wrong. My 188s are more like 193s and their width is 90+mm not 88mm as stated in their write up.

However, overall the added length and width actually make these boards more floaty and therefore more fun skiing the backcountry. They are excellent backcountry skis.

Great Skis

Noticeably lighter on the skin up. These skis will make you feel like a hero skiing powder. I can tell these skis were designed for big days of touring in the Utah backcountry. I highly recomend these skis.
