V.I.O. POV.1 Camera Package - 2007

The V.I.O. POV.1 Camera puts you on the fast track to viral video stardom. V.I.O. sets you up with both the hard and software to film, edit, and produce all your extreme acts. This wearable video camera records with 720 x 480 resolution at 30fps—meaning the camera attaches to your ski helmet and records your cliff drops and park sessions in high resolution so your friends and family can share in your reveling. V.I.O's modular mounting system attaches to anything from a ski helmet to bike handlebars for a stable, high-quality image, and the ergonomic design makes for easy one-handed controlling. Both shock- and water-resistant, the POV.1 Camera goes wherever you do. Check out your on-the-hill playback on the POV.1 Camera's LCD screen, and then hook it up to your home PC when you're ready to edit your clips. The POV.1 Camera includes POV Manager software, a wireless remote control, a 1GB SD card, USB cable, analog A/V cable, batteries, and a carrying case. The POV.1's lens has a 74-degree filed of view.

Bottom Line: The V.I.O. POV.1 Camera—finally, proof!

Kelly,

I believe at the time the POV.1 shipped with the 70° camera head, but it now comes standard with the 110° wide angle camera head.

Slick POV Unit

By: Backcountry.com Sponsored Athlete
January 16, 2008

I have been capturing footage with the POV.1 since this summer. I have used it skiing, BASE jumping, surfing, dirt biking, as well as other random activities. The unit is tough, waterproof and easy to use. The 720 x 480 resolution is superior to other POV cameras and the upload to my computer is mindless. The POV.1 has made it easy and enjoyable to capture POV footage on a regular basis. I have never run out of card space and It is nice to be able to play clips back to see what type of shots you are getting.

Does anyone know if it is possible and how we can develop a wireless streaming video service with the pov.1? We would like to use in a car on a race circuit.

Connecting the analog A/V Cable (provided) to the A/V Out Port allows Live Streaming to a TV or Monitor. The On Screen Display (OSD) graphics will time-out after 5 seconds when used in this manner.

POV.1 Review

By:
February 14, 2008

Great camera! Works well in low light as well as daylight. Works best with rechargeable batteries. Would be nice to have external power. Will lock up if you try to play with no clip available. Needs a firmware update to fix this problem.
