This is just what I was looking for. It keeps the sun off, and I stay as cool as if I were wearing a T-shirt. Even better, it doesn't stink at all...I use it almost every day and it stays smelling fresh...great workout shirt.

Absolutely. Sorry for not including that in the original answer.

If you really think it's going to be cold (weather and water) and have some extra money to spend, check out the Arc'teryx Rho AR shirt, if you are on a budget, the Marmot Power Stretch Half-Zip Fleece Jacket or Vest. All three are made of Polartec Power Stretch which is an amazingly warm material, and when soaking wet would function closest to a wet suit. Here's the catch though, you'll want this layer to fit snugly to your body so make sure you size appropriately. Having even contact with this layer prevents cold air pockets to form when you're wet which would make you uncomfortable. Think how a wet suit fits.

Polartec really won me over with this material because of how durable and stretchy it is. It will last you for a while.

If it isn't going to be too cold weather wise, but water wise, then The North Face XTC Midweight Crew would be ideal. It uses Bamboo fibers which are antimicrobial so if you'll be out all week, you can wear this shirt the whole time and not smell too bad. I had bamboo socks out on my thruhike of the AT and they were super tough. At the very most I'd change them once a week because they kept the stink down that much. Bamboo fibers are awesome.

Hope this helped!

Will this shirt work well with wet/cold conditions? Like hiking, and slot canyon canyoneering? Keep me somewhat warm and dry quickly?

For those activities I would look for something more form fitting and a little thicker. The reason I would go thicker is because when you're hiking or canyoneering you'll be warm and by being in a wet environment you'll want a more substantial material that will act as a wet suit in a way. It will retain the sweat, rain, water but by your body warmth, it will keep that water warm, and you warm. Just make sure to have a dry piece ready because if you stop, you will get very cold when your body heat dissipates and you're soaking wet.

You are in the right ball field though by looking at polyester, that is the best material for keeping you warm while wet.
