Under Armour Base 2.0 Tights - Women's

The relaxed-fit Under Armour Women's Base 2.0 Tights are a versatile base layer that keep you warm on colder days, yet keep you comfy on milder winter days. Flat-locked seams on these performance tights give you unrestricted range of movement whether you're Nordic skiing, snowboarding, or snowshoeing in the backcountry. Under Armour's stretch-fit polyester Coldgear fabric quickly wicks perspiration away from your body to keep you warm and comfortable all day—a brushed backing feels soft on the skin too. The Base 2.0 Tights coupled with the Base 2.0 Long-Sleeve T-Shirt create a solid foundation for a functional layering system.

Bottom Line: The Under Armour Women's Base 2.0 Tights provide versatile warmth whether it's bone chilling or just a little chilly.

Are these ideal to wear under hiking pants? I am concerned about early morning hiking in the Grand Canyon in October.

They will work great, the Grand Canyon will be cold in the morning but you may find yourself shedding a layer if you tend to get hot quick. In such event, maybe also look into a lightweight baselayer vs. a mid.

Winter? Bring it.

I love these tights. They are soft and warm and lightweight. I can wear them under jeans to walk the dog or run errands, and they block the cold and the wind and keep me toasty!

No, but they work great under a waterproof/resistant pant shell.

I wouldn't recommend it. That's a lot of compressing going on and it sounds like it could be uncomfortable. The last thing you want is to cut off circulation to your legs in the cold.

Good Base Layer

By:
December 4, 2008

I really didn't expect them to be a waffle knit material, maybe I misread the description!! Aside from that, they're a good base layer, I don't plan to wear them running, they probably wouldn't "glide" when they rub together. They definitely make a base layer for skiing though! Oh, and i wasn't crazy about the contrast stitching running up the outside of each leg (black's stitching was bright blue).

Are these going to keep me warm underneath jeans or fleece pants

Are these going to keep me warm underneath jeans or fleece pants in Northern Alberta.. in like -40C?? Obviously im not going to hang around outside in that kind of weather, but im from Australia, im going to be coming from +30C.. are they gonna keep me warm?? If not can someone recommend what will??

Absolutely not. That's spit-freezes-before-it-hits-the-ground kind of temperature. I hate to break it to you, but if you're outside for more than about 5 minutes, you're going to have to forgo the jeans. Get some ski pants and then wear tights and probably also long underwear underneath.
