Under Armour Base 1.0 Crew Top - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Pull on the Under Armour Men's fitted Base 1.0 Crew Long Underwear Top for early spring runs. Under Armour's thermal grid fabric looks sort-of like a computer keyboard—the grid-channel troughs trap air and cut down on the amount of yarn, so the Base 1.0 feels light, wicks, and dries quickly. This long-sleeve top also neutralizes odor-causing microbes, so you won't smell like a sweaty horse after your training run.

Bottom Line: The snow has melted but summer's still a ways off. It's a good time for Under Armour's Base Top.

Perfect baselayer for touring or spring skiing

By:
September 25, 2009

This thing is my favorite baselayer for when I go touring. I often get really hot when I tour, and strip down layers. Often times this ends up being the only layer I keep on as I'm skinning up. It does a great job wicking away perspiration, keeps me warm, but I never overheat in it. Come spring time, this lightweight baselayer is awesome. Under Armour knows what they're doing, and this piece is great.

I am going in July to a 14er in Colorado. Is this something I should buy?

I'd have to ask which 14er because conditions vary, but you should be fine. I wore this over a t-shirt when I hiked Long's Peak last year on July 16th. It was nice and warm during the morning ascent, but wasn't too much for the afternoon sun.

Great Base Layer

By:
November 21, 2008

Wore it on a night that got down to the mid 30's. Stayed warm, even though it was all I was wearing at night. It rained, and I stayed dry. Did a great job of both thermal and dry-wicking. However, UA's "fitted" fit is a little bit deceptive. It's actually a tiny bit loose (like regular thermals.) If you want it skin tight, you need to go with a compression fit.

Only other thing worth noting is that the fabric is a little static-y. I have to wash it by itself or it collects a ton of lint.

Under Armor Base Crew Top-long sleeve

By:
May 30, 2009

I purchased the under armor for my son to wear under his baseball shirt for the cold spring games. It is light enough to not interfere with playing, but is enough layering to keep him warm. He usually wears a 14-16, but we bought the men's small and it fits good. So, I think the sizing may run a little small. We are very satisfied with our purchase.
