Ultimate Direction Fastdraw Plus Water Bottle - 2007
Ultimate Direction updated its Fastdraw Plus Water Bottle with a larger, sturdier zippered pocket so you can carry your keys, cash, ID, and energy gel with you on your run. The Fastdraw Plus still features a tension-lock hand strap so you can comfortably carry the included 20-ounce plastic water bottle in your hand.
Bottom Line: Forget uncomfortable packs jostling as you jog or straps rubbing your shoulders raw. The Ultimate Direction Fastdraw Plus Water Bottle makes carrying your H2O—and your belongings—easy.
I used and have loved the old neoprene Fastdraw for years. Due to a very poor replacement (plastic handles) I decided to try the Plus. I love them. The kicker was a great upgrade and is easy on the teeth. It has also made for some great fodder for trail smack with many allusions of a return to the nipple. The holders are as comfortable as the old Fastdraw with the added bonus of a little storage. I typically replace them annually as the holders tend to stretch and eventually become loose. Another great product from a trusted name!
The best hand held water bottle on the market compared to a number of other brands I've tested Top reasons: Kicker Valve is easy hands-free and simple to use while running Breathable nylon mesh strap wraps hand comfortably and stays tight. New clear UD bottle design, now I can see my fluid intake and know which bottle has water or electrolytes.
A bottle is a bottle right. Yeah, but the holder doesn't slip off this one like other designs. That's great for when you have two in one hand and a gel in the other.
The sturdy construction was my main reason to purchase this product. Many of the people I run with complain that the tops on their bottles break or leak. Not so with this one! I bought 2 and carry my gel and car key with me on the run. The only drawback is that it is hard to get water out unless you bite on the top correctly. Easy solution is just to squeeze the bottle. Problem solved.
I got two of these and I have used them on a number of trail runs and I love them! The pocket is a really great size to hold my phone and keys. Then I put some Sport Beans in the other one. Good stuff.
The Ultimate Direction Fastdraw Plus is a great bottle that is very convenient on middle distance runs. I've used energy supplements in it and have not had any problem with residual taste or odor. The "kicker valve" doesn't always seem to provide enough fluid without a good bite, but this problem is very minimal.
This mesh wrist strap and the pocket are improvements on the the older Ultimate Direction bottle that I have, but I don't prefer the new kicker valve over the older "traditional" pull-out-to-open and push-to-close top. The kicker valve doesn't seem to let as much flow and if you squeeze the bottle it can limit the air going back in to expand it. I am also concerned that the new top will be more difficult to clean when using it with sports drinks, etc., though I have not tried that yet. Overall, I am still very pleased and have been satisfied with all of the Ultimate Direction products I have tried.
Once I learned how to use this bottle on the go it became my best friend. It is very gentle on the teeth while trying to run cuz I'm not trying to smash a hard plastic bottle tip into my mouth. Only reason why I gave it 4 stars is because the bottle doesn't last very long, I get like 5 sips out of it and it is magically empty. Other than that it is GREAT for short distance trail runs.
I really like the bottle. I used it on my 13 mile run the other week and it worked great. I have a marathon next week and plan on using the water bottle and my source on energy.
I've searched high and low for hydration to take with me on those hot long summer runs, and this has been the best. Very comfortable in my hand, nice little pocket to carry gels or shotblocks and the strap is adjustable, so you can make it nice and tight so you don't have to grip the bottle really tightly.
I love this water bottle and acutally have like 4 or 5 of them. Comfortable, carries 20 oz., has a handy pack on the side (fit in keys or maybe a gel), but I didn't give it a 5 star because I was out the other day on a run and went to take a sip and the entire top came off (plastic and rubbery top). I like the bottles and will continue to buy them assuming that this was a 1 time problem
