Ultimate Direction Fastdraw Gel Bottle Pouch - 2006

The Ultimate Direction Fastdraw Gel Bottle Pouch keeps 20oz of water and 4oz of energy gel in your hands at all times while you run. It doesn't get more basic than this simplistic design from Ultimate Direction. Slip your hand into the air mesh hand slot and hit the trails. Your water bottle is already in your hand, and a small squeeze bottle for gel is at the ready in an attached neoprene pouch when you need a little boost of energy.

Bottom Line: Bring the absolute bare necessities on the trail with the Ultimate Direction Fastdraw Gel Bottle Pouch.

perfect long run companion

By:

+Works great for long runs. Makes purchasing gels cheaper and produces less waste/litter. Don't notice the added weight of the flask at all. The top down orientation, as pictured, keeps the get at the top ready to use.
-The flask that came with the bottle was made of an opaque plastic, making it hard to measure gel servings. I swapped it out with a Hammer Gel flask with no fit issues.

Can't go wrong with Ultimate Direction

I'm impressed with how well made these feel: The squishy criss-cut bite valve on the water bottle is fantastic; easy to open and close, no leakage without at least two out of the bite-suck-squeeze trio. The gel flask gets by with an old-school hard tip; just make sure it's really shut before you slip it back in its holster! Highly recommended for aquaholics and goo junkies everywhere on shorter (up to 5-mile) runs!

Great Combination

By: Backcountry.com Employee
August 14, 2006

The combination of the water bottle and the gel flask is great! I use this on all of my shorter runs (use a hydration pack on longer runs).

My initial concern of the gel flask falling out was quickly put to rest. The flask sits snugly in its holder.

The mouth piece on the water bottle is easy on the teeth when opening, it's easy to close and it doesn't leak.

One considersation that didn't occur to me is that having the bottle on your hand at all times quickly heats the liquid inside to the temperature of your hand. This of course can be combatted with ice, but if you are going on longer runs, your water might be warm by the end.

All factors considered this combination is great to stay hydrated and fueled on any run.
