Embroidered detail and a shearling cuff give the cozy, waterproof ULU Suluk Women's Winter Boot a Nordic look. But because they're insulated with PrimaLoft, the waterproof suede Suluk boots are more than just another pretty pair of footwear—these boots will warm your toes all winter long. Rubber soles give you excellent grip on snow and ice, and EVA midsoles cushion your feet as you stroll the streets of Oslo.
Bottom Line: From Norway to Minnesota the ULU Suluk Boots prevent cold, numb toes.
These are probably the warmest, most comfortable boots I own. I've worn them almost every day since they arrived! The day I got them, I took my dog out for an hour long walk in the snow and my feet stayed warm and dry. I did order a half size up, which was good, since I have a high instep and the boot just clears it. If I went with my regular size, it would've been too tight. Oh, and instead of the usual, "Do you really need more boots?", my husband said, "I really like those boots!"
Do these boots run true to size? Bigger? Smaller? I'm usually a size 8 with medium thick socks and I just want to know whether I should get a size 7.5, 8, or 8.5. Any help would be great, thanks!
I ordered a size up, and thank goodness, you will need to. These boots are as they say they are, waterproof and comfy. I am 42 years old and they maybe a bit to cutesy for me......but what the heck, you only live once!
I haven't acutally worn these boots yet since I ordered them in summer, but they appear to be winners. They are comfortable (walking around the house, at least), very attractive, and look well-made. I look forward to wearing them this winter. They don't have the massive, clunky look of my old Sorels but appear very warm. They do run a bit large--I normally wear 7.5 but ordered an 8.
Yes, they are. I couldn't take them on a long, hard-core snowshoe expedition (keep your Sorels for that), but yeah-- if it's snowy outside and you have to walk around the ski village in several inches of fluff, you'll stay totally dry and warm. Decent traction on the bottom so you won't slide.
I just received these boots in the mail a few days ago and have already received so many compliments on them. I live in a very snowy ski town and have worn them around outside with no problem. My feet stayed totally dry and insulated even in the deeper snow. They're cuter than you can tell in They don't look clunky at all; I wore them to a party with some jeans and a sweater and it looked great. The fluffy lining is all over the inside of the boot- so cozy. Overall, I can highly recommend these.
I can not remember where they were made, however, they were well-made and comfortable. They came came up halfway on my short legs, I was hoping they came up to the knee, because I am always shaking with the cold. Alas, they did not. Give them a try anyway. Consider a 1/2 size up from your regular size. If you do not get terribly cold like I do you may not need to where them with a sock, but I tried them on and felt the 1/2 size up was a good idea.
we've had an unusually cold and snowy winter and my old boots just weren't cutting it...enter ulu suluk! i have worn them every day since they came, for all my outdoor activities (long walks in the snow with a puppy), and have also worn them to work. they have kept my feet toasty warm and dry! (i was a bit skeptical when i first put them on, but i have been through multiple snowbanks with them, and come out dry every time!) temps here have ranged from 0 to 16 degrees - my feet are usually always cold, but not with these on! plus they are really cute. great customer service with backcountry - they fixed a shipping snafu (ups' fault) - will definitely shop here again!
Pros - I love the color of these boots - elderberry! they are toasty warm and I can go through snow /slush, great traction! With 10" of snow here in NYC this week I am so glad I have these boots.
Cons - they are a bit heavier than I wish(I have an old pair of ULU boots that are lighter weight); the foot shape is a bit wider than I would like it to be.
