The Titus Racer X is a cross-country killer that’s been called ‘magical,’ ‘lethal at speed’ and ‘a slam dunk’ by Bicycling Magazine and Mountain Bike Action. Stiff and light, with four inches of rear suspension, this design consistently crushes it in cross-country, enduro, and Super-D arenas thanks to a Horst Link rear triangle. The four-bar linkage allows the rear suspension to compress and rebound independent of pedaling and braking forces, making it both an efficient climber and a smooth downhill performer without adding a ton of complicated (and heavy) extra pivots. This is our own custom version of the RX-1 (the all-aluminum-rear version of the Racer X), built up exclusively for us by Titus. The frame and rear triangle are triple-butted 6061 aluminum, with a carbon-fiber X-Link Horst pivot. The build features Fox Shox (F100R and RP2), Shimano XT / SRAM X.7 transmission, a Truvativ drivetrain and Magura Louise brakes. The resulting package gives you maximum on-trail performance and the durability of aluminum, with minimal weight and damage to your wallet.
DISCLAIMER #1: Bike is NOT ready to ride and requires assembly by a certified bike mechanic.
We will not be held liable for injuries you cause to yourself or others through the use (or misuse) of this product.
DISCLAIMER #2: The RX-1 was a special edition of the Racer X available only from Titus, and sold only as a complete. We have re-titled this bike "RX-1 Custom" due to customer complaints regarding the all-aluminum rear triangle, but the front frame triangles are in fact Racer X Aluminum triangles and feature the "Racer X" decal. We hope this clears up any confusion.
7.875" eye-to-eye length with a 2" stroke. Honestly though, I doubt you'll notice that big of a difference between the RP2 and th RP23 riding XC. Backcountry needs to get more geometry and build info on here if they plan on selling bikes.
I too would like to know the weight on this bike, no duh it depends on "what parts" How bout a weight using the parts you have listed in this build kit?
I bought this bike. It is an RX-1 re-labelled. Look at the spec sheet for the 2008 RX-1 on the Titus website and this is what you find for the entire build. I think Titus dropped the RX-1 for 2009 and they are selling their inventory as RacerX. I returned mine as soon as I weighed the frame and figured it out. Titus is misrepresenting this bike. A real RacerX from 2008 has an RP23 shock and carbon fiber chainstays. This box comes with a label that says 2009 RacerX 1. Weigh it!
Question is, where is this frame made? RX 1 are overseas I believe, Racer X's made in USA, so which is it? I am stopping shipment of the so called Racer X I just bought.
