Thule Revolver Hitch Bike Carrier - 4 Bike

The Thule Revolver Bike Rack lets you transport up to four bikes on your hitch without sacrificing access to your trunk. If you have a SUV or hatchback, this hitch bike rack keeps your options open—pardon the pun. Connect the Revolver Bike rack to your automobile's 2-inch hitch and set your bikes on the T3 Cradles. These cradles lock down your bikes while allowing complete adjustment along the bike arm. Once they're locked in, your bikes aren't going anywhere thanks to Thule's No Sway Cage, the included integrated locking cable, and a STL2 hitch lock. If you forgot something in the back of your ride, no problem. Simply swing down the Revolver Bike rack so you can open the back door. If you need help figuring out if this rack is right for your car, feel free to call our gear experts at 800-409-4502.

Bottom Line: The Thule Revolver Bike Rack gives you the option to carry up to four bikes without taking away the ability to get into the back of your ride.

love it

Looks great, works great, feels solid. I have a Eurovan and it fits perfectly without a problem. I opted for the 4 bike carrier, even though we only have two bikes, since other feedback suggested a tight fit. Also, the bikes are nice (serious road bike and a really nice mtn bike) so I didn't want to chance getting them banged up over a space issue.

Thule 4 bike carrier?

By:
November 19, 2007

Excellent quality, construction and features all of which you should expect from Thule and for the price. Bars are too short though, making it extremely difficult to fit 4 bikes on the rack at once. Bikes have to be jammed against and into each other to fit them all on the rack. I've tried all kinds of combinations of bike size and arrangement but rack is still too small. Anti sway cradles are a bit of a nuisance as well especially when taking bikes on and off of rack, they have to be removed each time to make it easier to get the bikes on and off.

2009 Rav4, spare tire on back. I have a recumbent --which means it is longer and heavier than a regular bike, plus we have a regular sized bike. Any suggestions on how to carry these two bikes on the Rav4? I don't have a "receiver hitch" on the Rav4 but I can have Toyota put one on if needed

Recumbent bikes come is all sorts of shapes and sizes, so it's hard to say exactly which rack will work best for you. You could look at the Thule T2, but it might not be long enough for your bike. You could also check out Cycle Simplex for some recumbent specific racks (http://cyclesimplex.com/).

Fits great, works great

By:

After checking out all the Thule and Yak products (May 2008) in search of a hitch rack for my RAV4 with its side opening rear door and external spare tire, the Thule Revolver proved to be the only ticket. It works great. Sure it takes a few minutes to get all 4 bikes on, but the more you do it the faster you get. Once loaded, the bikes are rock solid; no sway or noise. The built-in cable lock is a nice feature too.

Can someone give me the length measurement for the swing bars

Can someone give me the length measurement for the swing bars fully extended from the center of the hitch so that I can make sure that the rack will fit my Eurovan before making a purchase?

convenient

By:
August 21, 2009

fits four bikes, but takes some adjusting to get it right. i can carry 2 mountain and 2 road bikes. extremely convenient with the swing away arm. however be careful of the bike lock cable, if not fully secure it will drag when the rack is in the down position. additional cable is not cheap if it needs to be replaced.

I've got a class 2, 1-1/4" hitch on Subaru Forester. Will this bike carrier fit that, or will it fit only 2" hitches?

This model only fits 2" hitches. Thule makes others that fit 1.25" try:

Great Product

By:
March 9, 2009

I considered pretty much every rack out there. All of them have tradeoffs. I didn't want to have the bikes in the way when I needed to get something out of the back of my SUV (which happens quite a bit with kids on a roadtrip).

The Revolver, which in my opinion is almost perfect. My son's mountain bike doesn't have the bar from stem to handle bars but Thule has a product that fixed that issue. That's it though as far as negatives. The Thule Revolver does everything! It includes the anti sway cages that lock the bikes in place really well. The swing-away works so easily anyone can use it.

If I didn't need to get into the back of my SUV, if I wanted to remove wheels and mount to the roof, if I wanted my bikes banged up I'd have gone with something else.

For that bike you will need the Thule Frame Adapter.

Pretty Cool Product

By:
May 20, 2008

The revolver pretty much meets all my requirements. I needed to carry 3 bikes and have the convenience of swinging it out of the way. I use it to haul our bikes when we go camping. With all the stuff we have inside the SUV, we could open the liftgate without any hassle.
Some drawbacks are:
1. It’s hard to put the bikes in the first holder (closest to the vehicle).
2. The cradles scratches your bike labels but works really well especially if you secure the wheels using bungy cords.

This is a robust and well made product. It's also made in the good old USA.

You might consider a hitch extender----extends your 2" receiver out another 12" or 16" inches.

The Tailgate is not going to be able to open as fully as it should with the rack in place, it will work, but the tailgate won't reach its maximum openess with the rack in place.

Superb Bike Carrier

By:
October 5, 2007

The Thule carrier performs flawlessly and is convenient and easy to use. Installation was rapid and simple. Swing-free features work as advertized and make use convenient. The product is solidly, robustly constructed. Amazingly, the carrier claims to be made in the US.
