Thule Passage 3 Bike Strap Rack w/Cradles

The Thule Passage 3 Bike Strap Rack securely holds three cross country or all-mountain bikes on your trunk, so you don't have to take off wheels to drive to the trailhead. Six adjustable nylon straps secure this Thule rack to your car's trunk, and the padded frame ensures you don't scratch the paint. The Passive 3 Bike Strap Rack folds out of the way when you're not hauling around bikes, so you don't find yourself accidentally backing into stuff.

Bottom Line: You don't need a truck or SUV to shuttle bikes.

my car has a small spoiler on the trunk... would this rack fit over the top of it safely?

I'd say that kind of depends on how "small" your spoiler is. Let us know what kind of car it is, chances are someone here has tried.

This rack should fit over a little lip spoiler, but if it sticks up above the trunk very much, I'd be hesitant.

Solid and stable

The rack works great, it fits perfectly to my 2008 Honda Civic (even though the manual said it wasn't recommended!). I've been traveling around with it for about 4 months now, with both short city trips, to long drives to the beach. Be sure to tighten it a little extra if you're going to carry all 3 bikes, as it could balance a little to much on curves, but with one or two bikes you don't even notice they are back there! The extra strap to avoid bike swinging is a great plus. This is the stable part.

The solid part comes to an SUV backing into it a few weeks ago, I'm still to find some damage on it.

NO BUENO

This rack was cheap quality and had sketchy integrity right out of the box. The cradles scoot and move when traveling at highway speeds (causing bikes to rub against each other = dints and dings ). The straps popped off while traveling on the freeway...i WOULD NOT recommend this if you care about your fancy-pants bikes.

Nice rack!!!

This is a good looking rack option if you lack a hitch or other roof mounted stuff. It folds out into different sizes to fit just about anything I think, I had it folded all the way out to fit my car. I have an Xterra and was alittle skeptical at first but once I got it all attached and snugged up it didn't move. And once I loaded it up with three bikes I was still impressed with how well it carried them on a windy road and at freeway speeds. You still need bungy cords to keep everything snugged up but other than that I thought it worked great. I really liked the fact that you could remove the arms from the rest of the rack when not using the rack and you could still keep it attached to the car. This is definetly worth the investment if you don't have all the fancy enhanced racking. It's still a nice rack.
