Thule Escape II Bag - 2007

You're supposed to relax when you go on vacation. So what are you doing packing your screaming kids and all your luggage inside your car? Stuff your luggage in Thule's Escape II Bag and strap it to the roof of your vehicle. No, we definitely do not recommend putting the kids in the bag as well; they still ride with you. Waterproof materials and taped seams keep weather out. Thule structures the Escape II Bag with foam to make packing easier. Interior cargo-management pockets and netting make it easy to keep 15cu ft of gear organized.

Bottom Line: Get out of town without the stress of getting out of town.

It was a little less roomy than I expected, but then, I was squishing 4 of my kids into my Subaru Forester for a 10 day camping trip in the Eastern Sierras. We managed to get all of the sleeping gear and clothing into it, but that's pretty much it. I wish it had been a bit longer from front to back.

Easy to use and set up, however. We couldn't have done it without it.

Used once so far

I have only used this bag once so far. On a two hours trip from Seattle, WA to Vancouver, Canada. It was raining and I got some leak from the front right zipper. Overall the bag is roomy and easy to use.

The Escape II bag was delivered on time, easy to set up, and held a great deal of duffle bags and gear. We were worried about the contents of the duffels since it rained nearly continuously for our six-hour ride home from Lake George. Only one canvas duffle was slightly damp. We will put nylon bags against the zipper in the future. The Escape II allowed six people of three generations with a lot of luggage and fishing gear to co-exist comfortably in our Honda Pilot. Thanks!
