The Crossroad Railing Pack includes four Crossroad feet to affix your Thule rack system to your cars factory installed side rails. The Crossroad uses a unique flexible clamping strap to fit to almost any side rail. The Crossroad's adjustment tool is built into the feet, making it easy to adjust and lock down with no external hardware. Editors Note: Call for assistance if you aren't sure about fitting your rack.
I can't believe how solid these are. I check my racks at least once a month and I haven't had to tighten or adjust anything in the year plus I've had this setup. This was super easy to adapt to a factory luggage rack and I had it on in about 15 minutes. The weight limit is generous and I've carried some solid loads with no problems.
Nice solid construction that is easy to install. The additional locks needed to secure it to the vehicle are an extra cost but needed. Too bad Thule just does not include the locks it as the majority of people have to buy them. We did notice wind noise after we installed them but it is reasonable. Overall a quality product!
Your best bet is too click on the car rack configurator at the top and enter your vehicle information. From there it will tell you everything you need.
Perfect for my Subaru Outback. Easy to install, like the locking function, and oh-so-easy to move around on factory racks. Never experienced a problem.
I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee with factory rack and cross rails - Do I need to remove the cross rails when I install the Thule Crossroad 450 with Hullavator - or can I just move them inside or outside of the Thule bars? Thanks...
I used this foot to replace an older Thule foot. The old foot was a model made for my make of car. This foot works almost as well, is easy to mount, and has the added advantage that I can use it on any other car with roof rails. The disadvantage is that this model seems to create a lot more wind noise.
Way easy to get on and your SKS locks will fit in too. I put it all together at about 2:00 A.M. after drinking a six pack of PBR. Gas mileage is excellent because they keep your load bars so close to your roof.
I use the Thule Crossroad set with the 50in square bars on a Chevy HHR. The Crossroad "feet" secure very well to the factory rails, I thought it would be a little shaky but it wasn't at all. With the rails/bars installed, it is only slightly louder on the highway than normal but I honestly was expecting the noise to be worse. (obviously, the HHR is not the most aerodynamic vehicle and it has it's fair share of road noise naturally.) I have noticed about 1mpg decrease for highway fuel economy with the racks installed (and no bikes on it) but nothing that bothers me. I expect it to decrease further once we get the bikes up top, but I prefer this option over our carbon forks rubbing together on a hitch rack.
Really easy to install. Definitely hear the wind noise once they are installed. Recommend buying a faring for your car. Definitely helps with wind noise.
I bought the Crossroad Railing foot pack, LB 50 load bars, 2 Peloton bike racks, Frontier ES cargo box & an 8 pack of locks.
When I arrived to pick it up from the shipper, the Frontier ES would not fit inside my Subaru to take it home. So, raining as it was, I got to mount the feet, bars and cargo box right in the parking lot.
I sat in the car while reading the directions. Then, within 15 minutes, feet, bars and box were on, and I was headin' home.
It went on in a hurry and I've had no need to tweak the fit over the last month. The Peloton bike racks installed just as quickly, and the locks drop right in.
Easy install but geez for so much money you'd think they'd throw in the locks. A good product easy to install but 4 stars because locks cost me even more cash! I have a 2006 Subaru and these went on quickly.
