Thule Aero Foot Pack

The Aero Foot Pack includes four towers to attach your Thule rack system to your car. The Aero Foot Pack needs car-specific brackets and pads. The clips and pads are sold in Thule's Fit Kit - they clip around the edges of your roof. Since Thule's Fit Kits are made specifically for each vehicle please call our gearheads to ensure you're buying the proper Tower/Fit Kit set-up for your vehicle.

Bottom Line: The base of a Thule rack system.

Good job!

Does what it is supposed to do. Just be sure to measure the size as Thule recommended a smaller size for my car than I purchased.

Worked Well

By:
July 8, 2009

I bought the AeroFoot pack to change mountings from my Bronco to my little Honda.

Although the instructions weren't quite clear, once you figure out how to release the foot with fit kit by pressing the ratchet release under the foot, it slipped onto the roof bar and adjusted to the car as quickly as my old rain gutter mounts.

I don't leave the system on the car, but it takes less than 5 minutes to install with the old style ultimate bike mounts.

I'm trying to adjust my Aero Foot Pack 361X for my ski racks.

I'm trying to adjust my Aero Foot Pack 361X for my ski racks. They fit my 01 Chev Malibu. Now I need to use them on my 08 Chev Malibu. Will they work? I want to make sure the racks will stay secure on my car.

Solid Performer!

By:

I got the Thule roof rack for my '07 Honda Fit so i can throw my bike/snowboard on the roof and use the inside for gear/dog/people. Factory suggested distances for the load bars are a little too close to put a bike on the roof using a 2-piece bike carrier but after adjusting the bars i found no problems what-so-ever. The whistle from the bars on the highways isn't even that bad, (eventually i'll either make a valience or buy the thule one).

Roof Rack

By:
January 7, 2009

These are not as easy as you would think to install. When mounted on the roof of a midsize car with a wide stance snowboard set-up, you have to mount the bars far apart. When they are far apart the roof is not flat and the rectangular load bars are not parallel to the roof. When adding the board rack they do not stand straight up and angle away from each other. They look silly. Yakima load bars are round and this problem would not occur.

400xt is simply Thules item number for this foot pack. Thule Aero Foot Pack and Thule 400xt Aero Foot Pack are the same thing.

Unacceptably Difficult to Install

By:
March 13, 2009

Be warned that if you have a 2004-2007 style Toyota Prius, this is a nightmare to install. There are multiple steps that simply are impossible to perform without improvising. Unless you are extremely handy or can have this professionally installed, I would avoid this for a Prius. I did finally get mine successfully installed, but it took 3 days and lots of problem solving when the steps in the instructions were either unclear or physically impossible. What a nightmare. And yes, I had the proper fit kit for my car.
