Therm-a-Rest Stuff Sack Pillow

The Therm-A-Rest Stuff Sack Pillow is an ultralight dual-purpose sleeping bag stuff sack that doubles as a pillow. Just remove your bag from the Stuff Sack when it's time to crash. Turn the Stuff Sack inside out, so you're sleeping on the plush, comfy side. Stuff your puffy or some clothes inside the Sack. Ah, comfort.

Bottom Line: Just stuff it.

Shear Luxury

By:
November 28, 2008

Nothing much better than a good night's sleep in the backcountry, and having you head on something soft out there is shear luxury. You could bring your own pillow or use this little beauty. The construction is of the excellent standard we come to expect from thermarest.

It would fit the Men's Prolite Reg and maybe even the Men's Prolite Plus Reg as well. It's really meant for ultralite down sleeping bags, jackets, and other clothing. I use it for my Marmot Hydrogen Sleeping bag and the larger size for a 10degree Moonstone down bag. They work very well and one of the best luxuries I carry, especially due to the fact that I need a stuff sack anyway.

Makes a great pillow.

As the first reviewer said, this stuff sack makes a great pillow. The outer shell is made of lightweight nylon (just like the stuff sacks for the Therm-a-rest ProLite pads) and the inside is lined with fleece. The sack keeps your pillow (of socks/jackets/etc.) intact and the fleece keeps the whole thing from sliding out from under your head. In my opinion, it's worth the very slight weight addition.

What if you are an ultralight backpacker like this item was intended

What if you are an ultralight backpacker like this item was intended for, and you are busy drying out your other set of clothes and have nothing to stuff in the sack overnight? No answer is necessary, I guess this was not a question. Never mind.

Anonymous people should not be allowed to type. -MountainMan Cowboy. Maybe so, MountainMan, but we type nonetheless. While the stuff sack is ultralight, I don't think it was intended for ultralight backpacking, per se. Its low weight is more of an attractant for those who wouldn't normally consider packing a pillow -Anonymous.

A very useful addition to take into the Backcountry!

By:

For a long time when I went to bed in the woods I would just roll up some pants or fleeces as a pillow. Now I stuff this with things during the hike or climb then at night put some layers in it and sleep way better. It only weighs a bit more than a regular stuff sack, and is worth it's weight in gold. How many times have you made your pillow and woke up in the night to it all undone and ruined your sleep? This fixes that problem well.

Outdoor Comfort

SOOOO nice!!!
Lightweight alternative to bulky, heavy pillow when backpacking.
I just stuff a jacket in mine before I go to bed.
Fabric is really soft, too.
Makes you forget you are sleeping on the hard, cold ground instead of a nice, warm bed:)
