Better than a tent

By:
November 7, 2008

This thing is amazing, I use it every weekend on climbing trips at Horseshoe Canyon, even in the winter, granted it only gets down to about 10 or 15 in Arkansas but with a Thermarest its still warm. Easy as hell to set up, always set up and broken down faster than any of my friends with tents, comfier than a tent, and you don't get condensation or even dew(somehow). Now I have it set up in my dorm room during the week.

No, they're not the same items. This item holds 2 people, while the Skeeter Beater Pro is for 1 person, and has no-see-um mesh to keep the bugs from biting in your sleep.Backcountry sells the Skeeter Beater, the difference is that this item is made of polyester with a weight limit of 250 lbs while the Skeeter Beater Pro is made of nylon and can hold El Gordo at 400lbs.Check it:http://www.backcountry.com/store/TTH0004/The-Travel-Hammock-Skeeter-Beeter-Travel-Hammock.htmlIf you're seriously considering buying elsewhere, take a look at Backcountry's second to none, outright kick-ass 100% Satisfaction Guaranteed policy. Took a beating from my kids! Solid!

By:

I set this up in the backyard for a test (very comfortable) and then went inside to do some laundry. When I came back, my kids (4 & 9) were roughhousing in and over and all about the hammock. If I had any worries about the toughness they were dispelled immediately! Tiny and light. I keep it in the trunk of my car for inspired naps in nature.

i don't know why it took me so long to get a hammock, this hammock is awesome, i use everywhere i go, i sleep in it camping, i use it to relax everyday when i come home, i take in to the park, to friends houses, and it it the most comfortable hammock ever, it is super light and the set up is a piece of cake, the hook and rope system is awesome, i would highly recommend these travel hammocks to anyone who wants to relax, camp, read, drink, sleep or do anything in a hammock

the best travel gear I have

By:
September 22, 2008

I got this for an intense backpacking trip in hawaii. The verdict in rough terrain carrying heavy backpacks, we wished we hadn't brought the tent. We used the hammock almost exclusively. Set up in a flash anywhere there were appropriately spaced trees. We layed it out on the beach and slept on it flat like a blanket when it was nice, hung it in the tree under a tarp during the rain. We slept two adults in it reasonably comfortably after a bit of wrigling around to find the right spot. Overall, durable, lightweight, great for backpacking or relaxing, made lots of other campers jealous. Made us actually relax on vacation! Well worth it, just bring extra rope in case the trees arent close enough.

This hammock is now part of my standard camping kit. I love how this hammock's lightweight, packable design. It packs down to about the size of a large fuel cannister and adds hardly any weight to my pack. Once you've found 2 appropriately spaced trees, it's a snap to setup. The material feels very durable and I have a feeling that this hammock will continue to be a mainstay for years to come. I highly recommend this item.
