The North Face Vindicator Mid GTX Hiking Boot - Men's
Lace up The North Face Men's Vindicator Mid GTX Hiking Boot for rugged multi-day trips and soggy off-trail outings. A gusseted tongue and a Gore-Tex membrane create an impenetrable barrier against moisture and debris, while the Northotic ergonomic footbed, a nylon shank, and a grippy Vibram sole give you the support and stability you need for rocky, muddy trails. An AgION antimicrobial footbed covering keeps germs from lurking in the dark recesses of your boots.
Really solid shoe. Comfortable and well made. I got the discontinued color and saved some bucks and still felt good about it. I did get a little sore on my left ankle after wearing them all day the first day, but after I broke them in for a day or two the soreness went away. They seem to fit right one. I would say these easily rate with $200 shoes and I recommend them.
Awsome hiking boots. Whether a day hike or backpacking in montana for several days, these boots will do the job. Kept me dry and were immensely comortable.
I like North Face boots and the Vindicator is another good one. I wear them every day and usually buy two or three pair to rotate them. I gave these a four star instead of five only because of the sole. They squeak when you walk. All I can figure out is the black layer wore off of the bottom in one spot on each boot and shows an orange material under the black. That spot seems to be the noise maker. On the upside; great quality, great comfortable fit, light weight and waterproof.
have North Face adrenaline both in Hiking boot, and low style. Found out that style is discontinued...Is this style similar? I like the ridge in the insole part of the boot, light weight of boot.
Dave Dean,I am familiar with the Adrenaline you have been using. Compared to the Vindicator they are pretty similar in styling and with features.Waterproofing: Both have Gortex Lacing: This style has tabs instead of eyelets. You will not notice a difference in this category. Insole: The Vindicator uses what TNF calls Norhodic footbed. It should be the same one you have in your Adrenaline. Take a look at http://www2.thenorthface.com/ap/technologies/technologies-FO18.htmlSole: Uses a more aggressive (larger lugs) Vibram sole. If anything I see this as an upgrade.Shank: Both shoes have a synthetic shank for added rigidity.Fit: I have not tried the Vindicator on. From pictures it does look more rugged all the way around. Possible a little wider and higher volume. Bottom line: It looks very similar and the Adrenaline sounds like it worked very well for you. Pick up a pair, try them out, and post a review.Mahalo, Sumo
Do you need to prep these before setting out on the trail? Do they come factory sealed? I know you have to break them in but i am wondering about waterproofing seal or what not...
