The North Face Varius AT Jacket - Men's - 2006

The North Face Men's Varius AT Jacket can make it the 2,160 miles of the Appalachian Trail, but only if you can. It's waterproof, breathable, and seam sealed, making it a rain shell that can stand the abuse of the trail. But with its brushed chin guard lining, pit zip vents, and fully detachable hood, it won't abuse you. The Varius is made of The North Face's genius HyVent material, making it waterproof and breathable. Pull the easily compressible Varius out of your pack when the rain hits. You've got some miles ahead.

Bottom Line: Stuff The North Face Men's Varius AT Jacket in your pack to stay warm and dry.

Great Shell!

This shell is perfect, it works awesome with my North Face Pumori Fleece and North Face Denali Fleece. Very durable and water resistant. I recommend it.

How versatile is the Varius AT?

By:
December 11, 2006

I bought this jacket with the intent to use it as a snow-skiing shell, and realized immediately that it would be a mainstay in my cold and cool weather gear. It's warm as a raincoat, lightweight as a windbreaker, and it fits layers nicely (not to mention the zip-in liner option). This jacket won't see a hanger from October to April. The only problem I'm having with it is finding excuses to wear it on the warmer days!

Excellent Shell

By:

This shell is perfect matched up with a Denali. For the hardcore I would recommend getting the redpoint to go with this jacket, however the Redpoint Optimus will not zip into this jacket.
