The North Face Trailhead 6 Bx Tent 6-Person 3-Season - 2008
The North Face Trailhead 6 Tent is a roomy 6-person 3-season family camping tent that offers the versatility of a central common room and two separate sleeping quarters; key for keeping the kids from getting on each other's nerves-or yours. The Fusion Pitch system makes setting up the Trailhead a snap—super important when the weather's closing in. It's built for use as family camping tent at your favorite surf break or as a base camp for multi-day mountain bike sessions in Moab. Two integrated roll down dividers create the separate sleeping compartments. Prayer-bound floor seams increase user space with clean angles, and color-coded canopy and flysheet webbing makes setting up the fly a snap before the rain starts to fall. Dual doors on the Trailhead 6 Tent minimize collisions when 6 people are coming and going from the Trailhead. Internal pockets and hang loops make organization easy.
Bottom Line: The North Face Trailhead 6 Tent provides plenty of room for a car camping crew of six.
bomber big tent, its sets up very easy, I just had this thing set up for two weeks in the desert, it withstood high winds continually, it vents nicely and the standard tent stakes were sufficient even in the desert ground. (usually re-bar or large stakes are necessary). THis thing is a palace, well worth the investment, I will rock this tent for years.
The most bomb-proof tent of this size is going to be a big expedition dome tent like the TNF DOME 8... check it out, if you are into investing in something absolutely insanely solid and well designed!
After researching, buying, and trying a ton of tents (7) I settled on this one. Set up was a breeze, nice and easy. Great ventilation with the fly on. the front vestibule is large enough for one adult to sit in it in inclimate weather. The best thing about this tent is that the fly has an opening for the back door so you can get a breeze even with the fly on. Neat feature. i didnt find that the footprint, fly and tent were color coded, but could still figure it out. This is a great tent, just dont think its a 6 person, more like 4 and gear. A+
Is this a better tent than the Sierra Designs Moken 6? I like TNF clothing, but wasn't sure of the quality of this particular tent vs. Sierra Designs. Thanks!
I camped last Memorial Day week in Colorado when it was VERY windy...like 40-50 MPH winds constantly.... This tent took it like a champ. I've been camping for 30 years and it impressed me. My family of 4 has plenty o' room to spare inside the Trailhead 6. Compartments are nice for privacy....but who are we kidding, privacy in a tent?
I was camped for over a week in southern utah in this tent. We had thunderstorm after thunderstorm we even had some huge floods go through the washes. But all of our stuff in the tent was dry. We have camped in snow and hail and it has stood up to everything.
A nice one at that... The North Face Trailhead 6 Bx Tent 6-Person 3-Season tent was SUPER roomie! It also had two dividers that hung from the top to divide the tent into three sections. Entrances on both sides made for easy access. It was a bear to put together though. Other than that, I was pleased with this tent during my camping trip out to the dunes in September.

We are twice a year, family campers. So we had our king size air mattress, my daughters thermarest and a pack-n-play and still had some space for the bags & such. Loved all the hanging pockets and the foyer. Such a good tent. Very impressed.
Borrowed this tent for a late spring weekend in Southeastern Utah.Used it to sleep 3 adults and one child with plenty of room to house a lot of gear and have room to walk in. Not too much trouble for set up in the dark with two people. It is tall enough to stand up in and has a large vestibule. Our weather was calm and and getting hot during the late afternoons. This made it roast quickly with the rain fly up. The tent has room dividers advertised and this put a notion in my head of actual rooms. Not really what I had in mind and was disappointed about that part but really no other complaints.
