Hey Allan,I'd either recommend the Osprey rain cover in medium:http://www.backcountry.com/store/OSP0131/Osprey-Packs-UL-Raincover.htmlOr the small Sea-To-Summit pack cover:http://www.backcountry.com/store/STS0050/Sea-To-Summit-Ultra-light-Siliconized-Pack-Cover.htmlI have the 2nd one, and love it. It's only a few ounces, durable as anything, and easy to use. Hope this helps!

Not Just for the Kiddies

By:
December 16, 2008

I love this backpack. It may not be huge cubic cm wise but it can hold anything. It's very comfortable, and it's a good price for what it is. Not only that, I'm a 21 year old female. Who says you have to spring for the extra money on women's packs? I think it's just another way to jack up the prices!

I agree, I was very disappointed to not be able to find the 60 in a size small - so Im going to try out the 55.

Nice backpack

I bought this backpack for my 11 year old son for Scouts. It is a quality piece of kit that will grow with him. I spent quite a bit of time researching backpacks for him on the net and we are happy so far. I would recommend it.

Will it work on a 10 year old or is it too big?

It depends on the size of your 10 year old. You should check his/her torso length to make sure that they fit the 15-18" adjustment range
