The North Face Talkeetna Triclimate Parka - Women's - 2007

The North Face Women's Talkeetna Triclimate Parka delivers three-in-one versatility for women who frequent the backcountry. This longer, parka-length coat offers waterproof breathable HyVent weather protection. Sealed seams improve the waterproofing level by keeping out the smallest leaks. The North Face designed this jacket with a removable Heatseeker insulated Triclimate liner. Keep the liner snapped into the shell for blower Alaska days, then remove the liner and wear it solo while you run errands around town. The shell's adjustable hood stows in the collar, and Underarm zips let you vent excess heat on warm spring hikes.

Bottom Line: Don't vaca in Denali without The North Face Talkeetna Triclimate Jacket.

Talkeetna Parka could be Longer in Length

By:
February 25, 2008

I initially purchased the W Amplitude Triclimate but decided to go with the W Talkeetna Triclimate thinking that it would be much longer just like it said in the description. Unfortunately, it is only 1 inch longer (after speaking to a NF customer service rep) than the Amplitude Triclimate and indeed roomier as well. I have a petite frame (female 5'2" at 100 lbs) and prefer a slimmer/performance cut jacket. That said, the Talkeetna Triclimate is still a functional jacket; quite warm regardless of the shorter cut. I also like the deeper pockets of the Talkeetna Triclimate. I would've given it 5 stars if it was longer and slimmer or has a more feminine silhouette. The description was misleading. I got really excited thinking it would be much longer. Interestingly enough, it seems that NF make their jackets quite shorter than the other brands. I have owned some Patagonia & Arc Tery'x jackets and have been quite happy with the cuts. Maybe NF will create a parka that fits the description I am looking for for Fall 2008. We'll see!
