My money would be better spent buying a 20 dollar Wal-Mart tent. Sure this tent is light, but I would go with out a tent than bring this tent. This tent will only work when you face the door open at an 100mph + wind to let the tent breath. Every time I used this tent( which is about 20 times) i woke up soaking wet because of major condensation problems. I have also used this tent in almost every different climate (Even with the door open this tent collects condensation). This tent is also extremely small and i can barely use it as a one man tent, i can't imagine fitting two people in it. The only nice thing about this tent is that it is very strong.

Bottom line: Only use this tent in extremely windy conditions consisting of 100mph + with the door open and the wind moving in towards the door. Anything else and you will wake up soaking wet!

This is a great 2 person tent. Relatively light, only 4 pieces, only draw back is ventilation. If you do not position the tent directly into the prevailing wind condensation city. Only way I found to cure the problem was propping the back vent open more. Usually with a pen. Make sure you leave the front vestibule open at least 4 or 5 inches for good air flow. Super easy to setup and take down. Used for 2 weeks hiking the AT. Would be great in any weather conditions, downpours, windstorms, etc.

I've been using this tent for a year now, mountaineering in the Andes, close to Aconcagua(will be right there next summer).
It's totally amazing, no stabilizing strings at all, and it's seriously unbelievable stable, I've spent some nights where I was scared to stay out because of the wind, IT WAS RAGING out there, the tent didn't even feel the stress.
Condensation might be a problem in humid places though, it's very dry here and I still get some condensation in the morning.
In my opinion perfect for high altitude expeditions, I've used it over the snow many times without any problems.
It's also really light, you can use this solo without excessive overweight.
Only one complain: no pockets, just one next to your feet, which is not really useful.

It's well crafted tent... looks capable of what it says excluding the fact that vents just DON'T WORK. After 2 nights spent on a trip in Rocky Mountains and waking up in a SAUNA with completely wet walls from inside(without any rain during the night and even with half opened door!!!) I just returned it. Generally I'm keen in ultralight backpacking but if you want good ventilation look for a DOUBLE-WALLED tent(an extra pound weight). After all I bought Sierra Designs Asp 2 Tent and I am very happy with it!!!

The trail size and weight are great so you can easily carry the tent in your backpack. Set-up and packing are also quick and simple. Very stable even in strong winds, so you can sleep soundly at night without any flapping sounds. I couldn't believe before that condensation up in a mountain could be a problem for this tent, but it's true. Not a big issue though, and can be resolved by opening up the door and allowing more air flow. I formerly used the The North Face Rock 22 and enjoyed its roomy size and double doors and vestibules, but it's heavy and bulky to carry to carry alone. The TNF Spectrum is less roomy, but comfortably fits 2 people. You can also "augment" your vestibule by making a ground sheet that can roll out and extend once you open the vestibule. This tent has less airflow and it feels warmer, which is very welcome at high altitudes. Waterproofing is dependable, and the reflective marks and glow in the dark zipper handles are nice additions, though I would personally prefer to have more reflectorized strips on the upper part of the tent. Overall, a great tent to have and I would strongly recommend buying this if you are into backpacking and climbing in non-snow areas.

wet no matter what,inside.good looks, set-up and wind stability but not a shelter worthy of the name tnf.bad ventilation period. if you want to get out of the elements don't get in this tent. but it looks cool and high quality materials used. if tnf would accually use this product they could improve it(venting) but as is i want a refund, anyone best offer$.

The ventilation in this tent is not very good at all. Its super easy to set up and take down. It is very tough, as well. It's defintely the quality you'd expect from TNF, the only issue I have with it is the ventilation. You pretty much have to face the front door into the wind if you hope to stay cool at all.

This is a great tent overall. It has been through many week long trips in the Smoky Mountains as well as a 2 month backpacking trip through Europe. It is roomier than most two-person tents in my experience and holds up well against all elements. It does create condensation on the inside of the tent after a night of breathing in a damp place. I have encountered this problem with several tents made by other companies also. It is just one of those things you have to deal with; your not supposed to be as comfortable as you are in your bed at home. Overall this is a great tent and a good investment.

While it's super easy to setup and very light, there are some drawbacks.
If you camp in a dusty area, be prepared to wake up covered in sand as it's impossible to seal the doors completely.
My tent has 2 doors, not 1, which maybe due to different versions from North Face, so the wind will blow straight through.
This might be ok for summer, but you'll need a good sleeping bag for colder conditions.
It's more of a 2-season tent.
