The North Face was serious when they named Women’s Snowkat II Winter Clogs. These seam-sealed clogs have waterproof uppers, Eco insulation, and Ice Pick outsole lugs. The stretchy Lycra collars make getting in and out easy, EVA midsoles and heel inserts, plus 200 grams of Primaloft recycled insulation, keep your feet comfy and warm. The lugs on the outsoles of these clogs sense when the temperature drops and harden to keep you upright on ice. When you don’t have time for pesky laces and your ankles are sick of boots, pull on The North Face Snowkats.
I was very nervous about ordering this shoe after reading all of the other reviews. So, I ordered a size larger than I normally would (not a problem because of my heavier winter socks). I do not have any problems getting my feet inside the shoe, nor does it cut off circulation to my foot. I would even dare to say I have larger ankles than most! Although, I have not used this snow yet in snow, I am very excited to try them out! They seem to be comfortable and durable. And, I think they are pretty. All in all, I like them and would recommend them!

While the shoe looked neat and felt comfortable once I managed to get my foot inside it - the sizing was funny and I had to return it. I am a size 8 and the length of the shoe fit perfectly. The problem was that the stretch Lycra collar was so tight - it was cutting off the circulation to my feet. I don't have fat ankles by any stretch - in fact - they're rather slim - so I am not sure who is capable of wearing this shoe. Going up a size was not an option since the footprint was the right size... so sadly, I had to return and am still in the market.
The first time I ordered these I got them in the shoe size that I typically wear, which is a 7. When I got them and tried them on I realized they were a bit tight at the top of my foot, but my toes and the width of my feet had plenty of room. I thought this was simply because the shoes were new and just needed to be broken into. Well I wore them to work the next day and they were literally crushing the top of my feet. It's that black material at the opening of the shoe that was hurting me. I couldnt bear to wear it another day so I packed it back up for return. I still love the shoe, so I simply ordered another one that was a half size bigger. Im wearing the 7.5s now and they fit perfectly. So I'd recommend that if you buy this shoe, you should buy a half size bigger than what you'd normally order.
I couldn't even get these shoes on! I tried and tried and, even with a shoe horn, they didn't fit. I even read all these reviews and ordered them a size larger. Very disappointing since I need this kind of shoe.
I REALLY, REALLY wanted to love these shoes. I like North Face products and these shoes seemed really cool. But I broke my cardinal rule and bought shoes online that I was not familiar with. Mistake. I bought them a half size bigger, as recommended. I could not even shoe-horn-force my way in to these puppies. I then thought maybe my daughter could wear them. She is a full size smaller than me. Even she could not jam her feet in to them. So a size 8.5 did not even feel comfortable for someone who wears a size 7. Funny thing is, the footprint and width measure accurately. I think the funky fit is a result of the orthotic insert and that black neoprene (or whatever it is) around the ankle that feels like shackles. Like the other reviewer said, I really don't know who could wear these shoes. Someone with peg legs for ankles? I mean, I'm all for snug to keep out the water and snow, but when the toes start tingling, it's too tight, baby! But I still love NF stuff.
