"A" for comfort

By:

These are super comfortable. The stretch makes them great for those days when you're just a little bigger than normal, or just don't want to be hindered by tight pants. This style seems to run a little bigger than normal TNF pants. I've worn these on a multi-day trip, and strongly suggest bringing a belt to keep them up.

Favorite pants

By:

These pants are simply perfect. I wear them around town and on the trail, and they work equally well. Be prepared to wear a belt, though, they do stretch out significantly between washes. I love that I can roll them up and button them into shorts, great for when a cool day turns warm or you start to break a sweat on a hike. The styling is great, a not-too-narrow leg with a subtle flare at the bottom. I think they're super-flattering on my body and the length is 100% perfect. I am 5'4" and wear the size 8 regular.

Has anyone who's bought these slider pants found the sizes

Has anyone who's bought these slider pants found the sizes to differ from year to year? I was gifted a size 2 but am disappointed that they are too big. I am petite and normally where a size zero by today's standards (a 4 from a few years back) and would love to find these pants made during a year where a size 2 really is what the size chart says it is = XS.I'll try Northface directly but any suggestions would be great, thanks.

these ones are a little weird for me, too. I normally wear a TNF 10, but that's too big for me in these pants.

Best pants ever!

By:

I like these pants to much I ended up getting all three colors! Order a size down, they do stretch. I bike everywhere so having pants that roll (and stay) is an extra bonus. Super soft too...

What Size?

By:
May 21, 2009

I like these pants - they are very light weight and have some stretch to them. I am a little confused about the sizing however... The first pair I ordered, I asked for a size 4. When they came, the outer tag said it was a 4, but the tag on the waistband said a 2. They fit, so I kept them. Then ordered another pair (of 4's) and they had a size 4 on both tags and also fit (maybe just a bit looser). Like the pants, but not sure about the sizing!

Light weight cotton

By:
March 17, 2009

Cut very slim in the leg, I found these to these run a bit on the narrow side from thigh to calf (not in the waist, hip, seat though). Extremely light weight cotton, cool and soft and comfy, very stretchy, but not really functional. Might as well wear shorts or if you need to cover your legs, a nylon blend like the TNF Trekker Ascent or Recife Paulista.

A good second choice

By:
May 30, 2009

I'm a fan of the Precita pants, but these are a great substitute. Great stretch, but beware of getting too large a size as they will stretch out. At first I thought the button was flimsy, but its held its own quite nicely. My only nitpick is there are two straps to button up your pants at the bottom in order to make them capris. As I only roll these up when I'm wading and would not wear them that way long term, I am annoyed that if I don't button the straps, they dangle and tickle my legs. Other than that great pants!

Decent pantaloons.

These pants breathe well and have quite a bit of stretch, allowing for a full range of motion. As everyone else has said they run large.

Slider Pant

By:
November 17, 2008

Great casual pant, this is my second pair. I also notice they "grow" with wear, but not enough to be totally unflattering. Bring a belt and you're good. I ordered the long length this time. Was almost an inch too long, but one washing and a dryer session got them right on.

wonderful pant, but stretches out with wear!

By:
February 22, 2009

This seemed like a great pant for my climbing/hiking needs, and they fit perfectly when I first put them on. By the end of a few hours wear though they stretch out to the point that they're falling off! I would definitely advise going a size smaller when buying this pant-even if they are tight first thing out of the dryer, they'll stretch out pretty quickly! Otherwise great cut and incredibly comfortable...

Love them

By:
August 28, 2008

I get a lot of compliments when I wear these pants, but more importantly they feel great on me. They are very comfortable. They are a perfect weight for hiking and not as boring as the "functional" zip off pants. I just ordered two pairs...so now I have four pairs. I am stocked up for the rest of this year and next summer. They are a great fit on me.

loved pants, but not on me

By:
April 27, 2009

I loved these pants but didn't love my body shape in them -- yet. In my trim mode, these would have been keepers, but because I carry extra weight round the hips, I found it hard to have waist and hips both fit. Incentive to get fit!

If you are fit, they won't fit!

By:
August 18, 2008

Buy a size down? I wear a 4-6 normally, size 2 was way too big. So, size zero might fit (there is no such thing) and the appropriate "size down" would be a negative 2! Big bummer.

Long enough for me!

By:
March 23, 2009

Love the pants, I have a 34 inch inseam and they are the perfect length! I did get a size smaller than I thought I would need and they fit perfect! Totally comfortable!
