Stay warm on your backpacking treks with the midweight The North Face Women's Pumori Fleece Jacket. Wear this fleece as a top layer when climbing on a sunny day or under your shell for wet winter weather. The Pumori Jacket's durable Polartec 200 fleece won't pill and holds its shape through countless washes. If you have a compatible shell from The North Face, zip the standard-fit Pumori Jacket into its inner zipper and keep dry and warm during winter's storms.
Bottom Line: Let The North Face Pumori Fleece Jacket keep you comfortably warm wherever you go.
The Pumori is really cozy and warm. I'm 5'3" and 115lb and the small is a nice fit. I'm normally a small in TNF and found this fleece true to size.
This jacket has a button snap on the sleeve cuffs so you can clip it into shells. But, I wish they put the buttons on the inside of shell sleeves instead and put the loops on insulation sleeves. When I'm writing or typing, the buttons go clickity clack on the desk.
Also, there's a TNF logo on the front AND the back. I'm not into wearing conspicuous logos, much less two. That's my one star ding.
I am 5'3",143Ibs. If I follow the sizing chart, I should get a XL, but my another piece of OR fleece jacket is a size L (the under arm area has plenty space left). For this jacket, should I get a size L?
TNF pumori is an excellent jacket. Warm, soft but not wind or water proof, though. Perfect for fall and winter campus life in the Northwest (with an umbrella!).
I'm 5'5", about 120 lbs, small frame, slightly longer torso, and I ordered both the XS and S to compare. I found the S to be too wide, especially around the underarms and shoulder, but the sleeves were perfect. The XS fits much better, but the sleeves were too short (comes down to bony part of my wrist); this problem was easily solved by layering the XS over any hoodie or sweatshirt or t-shirt with longer sleeves.
The Pumori jacket length is longer than the TNF Apex Bionic, Windwall 1 & 2 jackets, and the back is approx. 1.5 inches longer at the longest point.
I just bought this jacket and I love it! Previously, I had purchased the North Face Windwall 1 jacket from Backcountry. That too is a great jacket and does an excellent job of blocking out the wind. The pumori jacket fits me better than the windwall --especially in the arms. The cuffs on the sleeves fit just fine -- not too loose and not too tight. Overall, the jacket fits true to size -- it is fitted but not too fitted and very flattering too. I bought the brownie brown color and it looks great! I will definitely be wearing the jacket all winter long!
I also have the Windwall 1 jacket (2008 style) and was wondering how the fit is compared to that one. You say that it fits better, but is it more fitted, looser, longer, shorter, etc in the torso?
I love this fleece jacket, which is not only warm but incredibly comfortable and soft as well. It works well by itself in the fall, or under another jacket in the winter. I constantly reach for this jacket not only for its warmth, but because wearing it is just so darn comfortable! Stylish, practical, and warm.
I'm 5'5'', 115 lbs, and of Asian heritage/small frame, and I purchased the jacket in a small. It's still rather loose around the arms, chest and the rest of the torso, making the jacket appear bulkier than it really is, so I'm exchanging it for the XS. Other than that, it's a great jacket and can't wait until I get it.
I bought this item hoping that it would be good, considering that it is a good brand name. The Jacket zipper does not look finished, the fleece material is low quality and the arm elastic is Black and not grey as shown on the picture. I am very disappointment to have received this for the money I spent, I could have paid a lot less for a better quality item somewhere else.
Yes it does have the logo on the upper back shoulder, looking from the back it's upper right. Just got it from backcountry today and now my girlfriends mom wants one too
My wife wears this almost every day. It's not super form fitting (even with the small and she often wears medium). It is also not a great wind blocker. However she does say that it is very warm and works well under a shell.
I LOVE it! My mom loved mine so much that I purchased her one as well. It's her favorite. It fits the curves of a woman fantastic! The Pumori is my favorite fit & The Denali is my second favorite.
I'm 5'5 and around 135lbs. I ordered a small and it fits well. I can wear light sweaters underneath it and it isn't too tight. This jacket is light enough to wear in my office when it's cold in the morning but also wear out walking around town or in the woods (so far at temperatures as low as 50 degrees Fahrenheit). I've never owed a fleece before, so I can't compare it to other fleece products, but I have not yet been disappointed by this product.
I'm 5'8", 120 lbs on my larger days, and have long arms/torso. Will this work - and if so, what size? (a lot of times I'm an XS, but the arms are too short. I don't have any long sleeve TNF items to compare to, though)
i'm 5'3" and 130 lb - wonder if i would fit a XS or S for this jacket. I have a Varius jacket in S and would like to use this Pumori as a bottom layer also
I'm 5'4 and 140 pounds. I purchased a medium and it is just right. However I don't like my jackets too loose. I don't have room for more than two or so layers (depending on bulk) under the jacket. Hope this helps!
This jacket is wonderful! It is true to size and very soft and warm, fits well under a heavier jacket as well. Perfect for coldish days (not quite spring, but not quite winter days).
Awesome fleece. Live in Colorado and fleece is a must! It is so soft and great fitting. Keeps the core very warm. Polartec is a better type of fleece than most, especially for warmth and durability. You'll love it!
I would say an average waist. Really it's not short, but not really long. I would recommend it. Some jackets are made to short, some hit to long and look funny. But, this one really has a nice fit. Hope that helps a bit. : )
Really do love this. I am 5"4 and 105 lbs. I have slightly longer arms, but this fit me well. Sometimes Northface sleeves are inconsistint with there sleeve length so they don't always fit. Love the weight of this jacket, I live in Seatte. It can get cold and very wet, so this is great for layering or just running around an an average day. I also have the Denali but that is much more bulky. (You cannot layer that) Would recommend this jacket. Also, would recommend ordering from Backcountry. Great Service! Returns are super easy.
I'm going to Australia this June and my group leader said a north face jacket would be good to have. Would the Pumori be a good pick in this situation?
hmm, what are you going to do over there? Is weight / bulk an issue? In general, these fleece are very bulky. I'd opt for a down or synthetic sweater with a high loft, something like the 700 or higher fill power, which will be much warmer, lighter, and pack down smaller than fleece. Then I'd bring a light, probably 100 weight fleece to layer.
I would check out the Denali Jacket. Denali is 300 weight fleece, whereas Pumori is 200. Denali is really perfect for 30 to 50 degree temperature (depending on whether you tend to be warm or cold in general).
Seems a bit light, given that it'll be winter there in June. "North Face Jacket" is really vague. I think you need clarification from your leader before you buy.
I like the jacket - it's highly functional. However, beware of the color - I ordered the Eco Green, hoping it would be a muted, sage type color, as depicted on the website. Not so much. It is bright, granny smith apple green! Someone said I remind them of a green M&M when I wear it. Not that I care - I'll be the warmest candy on the block. Just don't be surprised...
Can someone tell me the armpit-to-armpit measurements of a women's XL jacket? I find North Face's sizing to be all over the place, so sometimes XL fits, while other times its too tight. Thanks!

I began the great fleece search after I realized that my original black NF zip in fleece had gone missing from my vehicle. No fear, NF has made improvements to my beloved jacket... giving me a better feel, better, more tailored fit, heavier fleece and great color... not to mention the ability to zip it into my shell for heavier weather. I agree that this jacket is larger. I bought a small so that I would have room for bulkier clothing, but a xs probably would have worked great, too. You won't go wrong with this fleece.
Hey Mary,I would go with the Pumori over the Khumbu. The main reason is because I've much better luck with Polartec over off brands but they're both nice jackets. For sizing I'd recommend a large which will allow a little room for layering.Hope that helps.
I had been waiting to buy a new fleece and finally decided on this one. I'm crazy about it! I followed someone's advice that said for my height (5' 8") and weight (150lbs.) to get a large, but it was noticeably big. I went ahead and ordered a second one, this time medium, and it is perfect... still enough room to layer underneath, yet not too box like.
I'm 5'6 and weigh 150 pounds.I wear a size 8 in jeans and mediums in t-shirts and a large in fitted shirts(like Abercrombie and American Eagle).I was wondering if I should go with a medium or large in this particular jacket?
These fleece is perfect for keeping you warm in the spring or the fall. It is not windproof at all so it's a little too light to wear by itself in the winter. It is snap-in combatable though. It is very comfortable and fits very well. I found it true to size and I usually wear a small. The only downside is that the cuffs on the sleeves are very tight and mine haven't yet stretched out. Definitely worth it's price though.
I bought this in green, the color is a bit brighter than the photo online, but still got a lot of compliments on it. I got a large and probably could have gone one size smaller, but with a sweatshirt underneath it it fits very nice. Overall, very happy with the product.
Yes, it does. It was probably just out of stock when you last looked. It's available in XS and S right now, and I could swear they had M just a minute ago.
The North Face jacket is for my granddaughter. Since kids nowadays have to wear everything skintight, she thinks it's too big...Your Cust. Serv. rep was very helpful! TY

Bought for my daughter for Christmas. Ordered a larger size thinking it might be a slim fit. These are true to size. She loves it! She has a down North Face, but likes this one better.
purchased jacket for my daughter for Christmas. It is a hit. she loves it and it fits great. The swift service and delivery were a great surprise at Christmastime. thanks
I just LOVE the pumori jacket! I take a medium in shirts and ordered a medium (not sure whether to order med or large) and fits great. It is a very light weight, very comfortable but yet warm jacket. It is flattering to the figure, too. (not bulky and boxy) Living in New Orleans, it is perfect for the weather here. Oh, and the service is wonderful! Thanks Backcountry!!
They run pretty much true to size, so you could go with either a small or medium. If the size you order doesn't fit well, just send it back and backcountry will send you the other size. Their customer service is one of the best.
This fleece definitely appeared more slender then it actually is. For me, I could fit both arms into one sleeve. I wanted something that fit better, a more slender fit. Also the color (green) was much brighter than the picture shows, which was another turn off for me. I had to send it back :(
I bought this fleece for my mother as a birthday gift. I tried to get her the offwhite with the grey patches but was not able to find it anywhere. So on this website I came across the Pumori jacket in the off white and figured I'd give it a try. She loves it and wears it quite often. I would recommend this fleece to other definetley!! Once I have a little extra money, I plan on buying myself one.
This is a 200 tka weight fleece, a mid-weight fleece that is warm enough for cool fall weather and chilly spring weather. it layers well with TNF shells for the winter.
First; one of the best things about this site is the availability of on-line sales people to help with product details. Second; Northface makes the best stuff. I love this jacket. It fits well and is warm. A great jacket to wear from season to season and you can layer it for colder weather.
I bought two, one for my wife and one for my daughter and both were Christmas hits. What I really liked was the service and follow-up. Nice job Backcountry.
This jacket is true to its size. I'm am small and I recently just purchased this jacket in ivory and it fits perfectly. I would order an XS if you are a size 0-2
This is the first time I've purchased a north face jacket. I got this jacket for a very good price. I bought a matching one for my husband too. Definitely worth its value
The fabric is polartec and the Khumbu isn't. Polartec is a higher quality fleece. I've had my Polartec jackets for years. I wear them all the time and they have hardly worn.
