The North Face Petal Jacket - Women's

The snow-report website is your internet home page, and sometimes you crank up the air conditioning and walk around in your snow pants even though it’s May. We understand. So does The North Face Women’s Petal Jacket. When that first ski day finally rolls around, this jacket’s 2L HyVent fabric, fully taped seams, and light synthetic insulation are ready. Engage the hood and powder skirt during that finally-on-a-weekend-day snowstorm, and unzip the Underarm zips when the slopes turn slushy in the spring. Hopefully the RECCO reflector is a benefit the local ski patrol won’t have to test out.

Bottom Line: You just bought 1000 snow-cones, loaded them in your truck, and dumped them on your neighborhood hill for some summer tracks? Wow.

I need a coat that would be good for wearing when I ride my bike

I need a coat that would be good for wearing when I ride my bike in the fall and winter to work. On days with snow or extremely cold temperatures I will drive my car to work. Would this coat stand up to a Pennsylvania winter? If not, please send me some recommendations. Thanks!

That would not be one of the jackets that I would recommend as a winter biking jackets. Check out some of these- I think they will keep you warm, and also be quite a bit more breathable, and have a better fit for biking:
1. North Face Plasma Thermal
2. North Face Sentinel Thermal
3. North Face Redpoint Jacket

It can be removed but not stored. It is attached by zipper and two clips which on either end which keep it out of your vision.

Also, Dimensions on jacket, size medium:
Weight: 2.10 lbs.
Center back length: 25.5"
Sleeve length: 35"

Great all-round jacket!

I bought this for my wife and she absolutely loves it! She does a little bit of everything, skiing, showshoeing, mountaineering, winter camping etc. It's been great for everything. Water beads right off but it breathes very well! Tons of cargo pockets, plenty of ventilation and the powder skirt is enough to keep all the undesirables out! It's definitely more than just a shell but she's used it down to -20ºf so far with a little bit of layering. She's got zero complaints and I got browny points for the gift :)
