on the TNF site, the inside view of the jacket clearly has a

Yes, it does have Recco. I just got this jacket from TheNorthFace.com last week, and it has Recco in the upper right arm.

It doesn't - the first generation of this jacket (2007 I believe)- did have Recco, but this current model does not.
