That video your buddy got of you slipping, sliding, and flailing on the ice last winter got thousands of hits on the internet, so it’s understandable that your friend hopes for a sequel this winter. No dice, though. You’re wearing The North Face Women’s Nuptse Knee-High Boot.
550-Fill down insulation for cozy, sleeping-bag-like warmth
Rubber outsole with temperature-sensitive Ice Pick lugs for navigating icy sidewalks
100% Recycled ripstop upper with DWR coating for earth-friendliness and water-handling
Plush faux-fur and partly recycled polyester lining for comfort
Hi again - yes - down insulation should be every bit as warm as sheepskin, and maybe warmer since I haven't seem sheepskin boots that come up this high. They are totally windproof.
How waterproof are these? Can they withstand drizzle? rain? stepping in puddles? Could I throw out my old rubber boots and know that these will do the job?
Hi - They do have a DWR (durable water repelancy) treatment, so they will do just fine in a drizzle, but because the seams are not sealed, I would want to be out in full-on rain storm in them. Great for cold and snow however! Hope this helps
