The North Face Nuptse Fur II Winter Boot - Women's - 2008
Lace up The North Face Women's Nuptse Fur Winter Boots when you decide to stroll through town after a foot of fresh snow just fell. The North Face insulated these cozy boots with 700-fill down and made them waterproof, so you can tromp through calf-deep fluff without concern. Faux fur linings dress up these sturdy boots and add warmth while cushy midsoles provide plush comfort for your stroll. Rubber outsoles grip the slippery ground so you stay upright, and an antimicrobial treatment in the Nuptse Boots' footbeds decreases foot odor.
just purchased these boots today from a a local store!!! sooo cute. comfy??? oh yes!!!! these are a must have boot. i just roll my jeans right above the top to show them off!!! even my boyfriend loves them and we know how guys are with women's shoes..... :) they run very true to size. the tongue is attached all the way up to prevent water from getting in, but they do lace as tight as you need them.
I just bought these boots. They haven't arrived yet. I paid $107.00 for them plus shipping. Is there any way at all since it is such a new order that I would be able to get them for the sale price? I would very, very much appreciate it. Thank you.
Help! I love these boots, but I stepped into a calf-deep puddle of gross water while wearing them and they flooded. Spot cleaning is not going to do the job. How can I wash them thoroughly? Would it be bad to submerge them?
I first saw these at Snowshoe, W. VA., but they did not have my size. I now own three pairs of them, but really, I have to send at least one pair back.....two is all anyone needs! They are the most comfortable boot ever. Not clunky and over exposed like UGGS. Check them out for your self, you will love them. Cat
Has anyone had trouble with getting blisters on the back of your heels? I've already had to return two different pairs of boots because of this problem.
I don't know about these boots, but just in general, if you're getting blisters from boots it's probably because you need to break them in more. Get a few blisters for the first week or two that you wear them, and after that they should be good... at least, that's been my experience with boots.
Yes; I usually wear between an 8:1/2 and a 9. I bought these boots in an 8 1/2 and they are plenty big, even with socks (the boots aren't too big--just roomy enough). If you are between sizes, I'd suggest staying with the smaller of the two sizes.
First I received the Isabel II boots but since I have big calves they really didn't fit well. So my mom called and spoke with Spencer at backcountry and said it was so simple to return my other boots for these boots- the Nuptse Fur II. Thanks Spencer for your help and how quickly I got them! Returns are so easy with this company! I really love these boots b/c they lace up- this helps for those of you like me with big calves. They are very fashionable but also practical. I have been out on the ice and snow and they are great. My feet have stayed dry and warm. Thanks Backcountry for you great service!!!
I bought these boots for a week long trip to Northern Minnesota. I shipped them 24 hour shipping so that I could make sure they arrived in time. They not only arrived on time, we had several days of below zero weather. I wore these boots to walk my dogs, to snow shoe, to sled with my kids and to frolick in the snow. Never once did my feet get cold. I was typically outside for an hour or more. These boots are incredibly comfortable, warm and so cute! I can't stop wearing them! By day 3 of our vacation, my sister ordered herself a pair.
I don't have a measuring device on me, so let's put it like this. Put your middle finger on your ankle bone, and stretch your hand so your thumb is as high as it can go up your shin (roughly 6 or so inches). About that high! :)
I love these boots! They are super warm, relatively water resistant (I wouldn't go puddle jumping, but snow brushes off easily without soaking through). Since the actual boot shaft is down-filled, there is not too much support, which is fine for the dog park but not practical for serious winter hikes. I wear an 11 and have a relatively narrow foot & slim ankle, but these fit perfectly with the laces tightened all the way.
I am so pleased to find a warm boot that is also comfortable. They are so light and easy to walk in! They are warmer than my Uggs and not so "clunky". I did slip on ice with these boots however. My heavier boots give me a bit more grip than the soles on the Nuptse, but knowing this I am more careful when I wear them. I tried snowshoeing in them but found them to be too light weight w/o enough ankle support, but for easy hikes in 3-4 ft. snow they are great. Gaitors kept the higher snow out of the tops and I was able to travel faster than with my sorrels. Easier to put in a pack than heavier boots too!
I used these boots in the back woods of New York .. some snow, some rain, some sleet & lots of ice. I loved them!! Didn't have to use socks and my feet never got tired, wet, or cold!! And I had several complements on them.
Thanks Back Country .. I shall be a return shopper next time I am in need of gear.
These boots are true to size and are easy to lace up. I have wide feet and this is the first time that I didn't have to return a pair of shoes. Very happy with my purchase. :)
I wouldn't recommend these boots for showshoeing. There's a lot of damage that will happen to the tops from the snowshoe bindings and they really aren't stiff enough in the soles to be a good snowshoe boot. Try some of the Sorel line or a few of TNF boots.Hope that helps.
I love how light weight they are, and they are very warm. The top part never rubbed and irritated my legs either. I feel they run bigger, because usually I am a 7, but I bought a 6.5 and still have a little room. They also have good traction when walking on icy sidewalks to classes.
I love these boots, I am a person that despises the cold (yet I live in Iowa) and these boots are so warm they kept my feet warm in 0 degree weather while shoveling at my office. I love them! They are also cute and stylish. These boots are the least bulky snow boots I have owned! I bought the Furallure North Face coat and the Nuptse II fur lined North Face boots. I used the online chat now with a real person option instead of calling and he was totally AWSOME! He was very nice and very helpful. Both of these items fit perfect to the size. I chose back country because my boyfriend referred them to me and I was totally excited that he did. They were great! I had a little problem with the shipping that was not their fault. The online chat guy ( I can not remember his name I was in a hurry when I talked to him, and I wish I could remember his name because he was great!) said since I live in Iowa it should take a week to get to me. Then I got an email from ups (like he said I would) to track my package. (Now this is the coolest thing) UPS told me it would be here Dec 23rd. I got an email from back country telling me there was a problem with my shipping telling me to check my UPS tracking! I checked it and it was due to weather, it was stuck in Des Moines from an ice storm that previous night. It was only a day late. I have NEVER had a company be that worried about me after they shipped my item. UPS never contacted me on the problem it was back country! Do not buy your North Face gear from anyone else buy from them! They even matched prices from other websites. I just had to give them the website I found it at and they matched the price if it was lower. They are a great company and totally back their word! I will never shop online anywhere else when looking for outdoor gear! They are the best! Now how many of you were waiting for a package and days or weeks later it still wasn't there? I have never had a company personally contact me in any way to tell me there was a delay in my shipping. Thank you Back Country, and the helpful online chat guy (I think it was Steve but not totally sure) You have been great and I will be back. Plus send all my friends looking for gear. Thank you tons...Jennifer McColley LMT
The white boots aren't as difficult to keep white as you'd think. They clean up really pretty well with a light detergent and damp wash cloth. Go with the color you like and enjoy them. They're not bad to clean at all!
These boots are very warm and I always have cold feet so I should know. I have even just slipped them on without any socks to get my son off to school and they were great. Worth the money! They will last and last and last......and so light as well.
I live in central CA, but it does get into the 20-30-40's here, and I am always cold. Have to make a trip to -40 degree Regina for a few days. Is this too much boot, is there a different one I should consider? Hate to only buy them for a one time trip.
If you're always cold I would get them, they're best for insulation and keeping your feet dry. They will be perfect for the trip and you'll get use for them afterwards as well.
These boots are awesome!! They are everything I could possibly want!! The price is so worth it because I know they are gonig to last me many years! Practically weightless, they tighten really nicely as well. They are so warm that only one pair of socks is needed I feel. Backcountry is great - I paid extra to get them in 3 days and they came in 2!!! How cool is that!!
yes they always stay laced up. it's never been a problem for meThe laces are great. In some other shoes and boots the laces seem slippery to where they always want to come untied no matter how many times you tie them or how tight. These stay tied like a champ, you don't even have to double knot them.
Got these in white for my Girlfriend. She loves them though they don't have as much ankle support as she would have liked. Very warm and cozy. White is hard to keep clean.
My feet are always cold when we go and watch our kids play hockey. Are the North Face boots warm? We live up North and you know how cold it gets here. Are they good for -40 below weather????? or colder??????
Yes, Delaine. These boots will be warm. Be sure to wear good wool socks too. That will help as well. And you can always toss some toe heaters in your boots if you feel like you'll need a little extra toastiness.
Very happy with these boots. I shoveled in pretty deep slush and my feet stayed dry. If you are debating between 2 sizes, go with the smaller (I wear 7 1/2 or 8 - I first ordered the 8 and then exchanged for a 7 1/2). Backcountry gave me a free return label and shipped the exchanged pair for free too!
Unless you have wide-leg pants, these will have to go over. They look very stylish even with dress pants tucked in I love them. If the leg is wider you can get away with them not tucked in but why would you? They are so cute you want to show them off.
I purchased these for a ski trip to Tahoe. They are stylish AND comfortable. They fit great - true to size! I wore them sledding, snowmobiling, and just shopping around town - perfect for all activies. My feet were warm (didn't get wet at all, even when stepping in 4 feet of snow). Great purchase! These are my go to cold weather shoes now!
I bought these for my wife and lets just say they are amazing boots, Lightweight, Extremely warm and everyone i know wants them. great buy for the money
These are the BEST boots I have ever had in my life and I am 65 years old so I've had a few pair in my life. Even though I am a "woman of age" I love the sassy look they give...They are the warmest boots ever and that says plenty for trekking through Chicago winters. I hope next year they come out with some funky patterns...and backcountry's service was out of this world....very speedy and the size runs very true...
These are the BEST boots in the world....I am 65, but young at heart, and having owned lots of boots in my years these are the first EVER that keep my feet warm, even in Chicago winters. Plus they are sassy...especially for a woman of age! I hope next year they create some with funky prints...and backcountry service was fabulous...
I have looked @ other views of these boots on other sites, and they DO lace up. i am an 8.5 with a narrow foot as well & all of my north face shoes are 8.5 :) i am ordering these from backcountry now!I ordered these boots and I love them! They do lace up nicely and keep tied tight. You don't even have to double knot them.
First I ordered them in the brown color and they were so cute, comfortable I had to order the white ones-----just hate that living in the deep south I can't wear them as long as I would want to due to the humid weather but you can bet will wear on days that I can.
Wow. These boots are even better than I thought they would be! Yes, they are true to size -- I am glad I followed the advice of the other reviews! I usually wear a 7 1/2 and I sometimes feel like I need to buy an 8 "just in case" but I got these in a 7 1/2 and they are perfect.
They are beautiful boots, too! Usually warm boots are not this stylish! And another plus is they are not stiff in any way so they seem to let your feet not feel so confined like some boots do.
Also, customer service was awesome. I received these boots quicker than I thought I would and dealing with Back Country has always been a positive experience for me.
These boots are not only comfortable and look great, I am a college student and while all my friends have soaking wet feet in uggs my feet are always warm because these boots are REALLY made for snow. Enjoy!
I bought these boots for my extremely fashion conscious daughter who is studying fashion at a university in a cold city. They combine style, warmth and comfort. She says she is "obsessed" with them.

Warm and snuggly. 1/2 to 1 full size larger, at least for my foot, and I normally even get 1 size larger in boots. So definitely get your size or the next one down.
We got 6-8 inches of snow for me to test them in and I got no water in them at all.
So I haven't worn these, but I think I will be returning because they look oddly narrow. I don't have wide feet or anything--standard women's 9.5 size. They just look really long and narrow. I have both columbia and sorel and think they look more normal! Very sad as I loved the style.
Went up to Lake Tahoe a few times with these and I absolutely love them. They were warm enough to wear while snowmobiling and playing in the snow. Had enough traction with the snow. Ive gotten many complements on them. They look great w/skinny jeans tucked in. They do run a tad big. Would recommend you getting a half size smaller than normal. Only con I found was that I wasnt able to get FREE shipping. However, the package did arrive in just 3 days with regular ground shipping.
I have not used them yet, due to not cold enough. I have tried them on and they are comfy, and very cute. I hate being cold, and look forward to the first time, having warm toes.
All I can say is that I am happy that I went with my gut feeling to buy these boots. I initially saw my friend wearing them and waited awhile to purchase. They are stylish, warm and ever so comfortable. They have have that nice rugged look, with a feminine touch. Like the brown color the best as well.
I bought these boots because I work in a basement office where we have little heat and was looking for a lightweight yet very warm and stylish boot. These boots were exactly what I was looking for! They are functional (waterproof as well) and look good as well.
I had to shovel snow in -5 degrees for 4 hours today and my feet were the only part of my body that weren't cold. These boots are amazing. I would've paid double for them. I am a college student and I love them because they are very cute, as well. I'm never embarrassed to wear my boots. If you are debating buying these boots - buy them. You will love them!
I bought the Khombu Tusk boots from Zappos a month ago and it is not waterproof as they advertising. My feet got frozen at 38F in Tahoe. I decided from BackCountry and I had a wonderful experience, as I chat with Mich P. and he was so helpful. I just got the boots and they are nice. I wear 9 1/2 and I got the same size, but it is a little big, whoever it is great for a pair or insulate socks.
We bought these boot for my 85 year old mother who had borrowed some from a friend. She is loving them and they lace up beautifully and keep her very steady while she is walking. They were very good in the snow.
