The North Face Nuptse Down Vest - Women's

I am really happy with my vest, it is super soft and warm. I usually wear a medium, but after reading other reviews I bought a small. The small fits great, and I still have room to wear a sweater underneath it.
Awesome vest! I cannot wait for it to get colder out so that I can see its full potential!

I love the vest. It is exactly what I wanted. It looks longer in the picture than it actually is and it is instead a "regular" length vest.

I am wearing my new Nupse vest nearly every day. It's great both outdoors, and for keeping a chill off indoors on cold, drafty days. It (along with fabulous OR gloves) allowed me to ski at temps of -15F. The vest runs large. My sizing puts me squarely within a medium, but the medium was way too big. The small fits me perfectly.

When shopping online I was leaning towards this vest especially after reading all the great reviews but then I went into a store and compared this vest with Mountain Hardware's downtown vest and bought it instead. Both a great vests but I found the fit of the Nuptse to be a little off. It definately runs small - it was between the medium Mt. Hardware or a small NF Nuptse. I found that the armholes on the Nuptse were too big. I also preferred the fleece lining in the Mt. Hardware vest. But the collar on the Nuptse vest is incredible and will keep you very warm if you zip it all the way up. That was the one thing I liked about the Nuptse vest better. A good vest but I suggest the Mt. Hardware - it had a little more style too.

I just LOVE this vest!!! It's really warm and the neck comes up high on me, but not it doesn't rub my chin. I like how it stows into its own pocket, so it can be a travel pillow. the water resistant coating is GREAT. It's also helped to repel stains on the white vest I own. I got a small and I'm 5ft2 120lbs. I probably could go with an extra small, but I wear things big and this fits over sweatshirts. The best part is, it doesn't look TOO big. Warm, fuzzy pockets and the draw cords are in the pocket. This vest will NOT dissapoint!

This product is great!! I have several North Face apparel and gear!! This lives up to the name!! This goes great over a North Face Denali jacket or a 1/4th zip jacket on the colder days. This vest keeps you warm outdoors, but comfortable indoors!! It is absolutely PERFECT!!

I had a broken zipper but this company took care of it. The best company and policy. I would not order from any other company online.

I have had so many compliments on this vest, and I love it. It is perfect for the weather in MI, not know what the temp is going to be on any given day. Especially with the mild weather that we have been getting, PERFECT!

My girl friend is just in love with this vest. The 700 down is just silly warm. She is warmer in this w/ a long sleeve shirt on then in her other winter jackets. Plus she looks cute as hell with it on :-) and that is always a bonus..

10/10 as almost all North Face winter gear is.

This is a great vest... and worth every penny. Allows you to look mountain stylish and keep toasty warm at the same time! Loved it so much that I just bought another one in a different color! PS - the jacket runs a bit large, so I would order down at least one size

I have had one of my Nuptse vests for over 8 years. It hardly looks worn even though I have used it a ton. This vest is really warm and looks great. Like everyone says, size down from your normal size.

This vest is great. Listened to the others and ordered a smaller size than I normally would have..am 5'5",weigh 150 and ordered a large instread of XL.Fits great. Love the length and the cushiness.I wear it on top of sweaters, t-shirts to run errands and keeps me toasty warm.

This vest is great. I was afraid it would make me feel "overstuffed" as it looks very full.It was not . Fits like a glove but I did order a size smaller than I normally would have as I read some reviews that it was fit as generous.
Love the softness of the lining at the neck.....very warm when worn over just a sweater or turtleneck and that is in Michigan's 32 degrees.
Best vest yet by comparison to some others I have from LLBean.

The wife adores this vest. She bought it when TNF was offering the 7 Summits series, but it's pretty much the same. This thing is CRAZY warm and she looks smokin' in it. It is water resistant, but I'd shy away from too much precipitation with the super-comfy 700 fill down. We go on walks in freezing Missouri winter evenings and all she needs is a windshirt and this vest. Dynamite stuff.

I purchased the North Face Nuptse Down Vest about 2yrs ago. It's really warm and comforting. I would say, I wear my down vest more often then any other jackets in my closet.

I recommend sizing down.

I bought the vest-Medium in Green and loved it! It was a little big but great over a sweater or sweatshirt. The Nupse vest runs a little large-so others may want to consider a smaller size than normally worn! Super comfy and a great price!

My mom loves this vest. It was the best present I could make her for Christmas.

It's incredible fine and warm.

This vest is like taking your good ol down jacket out on that brisk day but without the sleeves! This jacket is 700 fill of pure warmth that keeps your core toasty. The size runs just a tad big but thats perrrrfect because you can layer a fleece under it and not feel like you're wearing a corset! Even the collar is cozy. The length is perfect too, keeping the wind at bay at your lower back. Arms holes aren't cinched tight, shoulders aren't ridiculously thin, the collar doesn't poke you funny and you don't feel like you're wearing a light padded sweater! The North Face Nuptse is all you'll need when you retire your down jacket for the winter!

This is a great vest but don't be fooled by the photo of the white vest. The lining is a light tan and the zipper pulls are a light blue/turquoise color. In the photo they show the lining and zipper pulls as this soy/beige color. Definitely not as cute with the blue tags hanging from the zipper and pockets so I returned the item.

The vest kept my wife cosy warm at the Ouray Ice Festival, it was also the envy of many a "chick with picks". Thanks

My wife has this vest and I have a similarly priced Mountain Hardwear down vest and this TNF vest is much better. Its great looking, rarely loses feathers and is super comfortable.

I looked at a few different NF vests and found this one to fit the best and is very warm. I did get a size smaller than I normally wear and it fits perfectly. I got the brown and it's a great color. Also some of the other vests had a more shiny appearance, which I didn't like as much and this finish is much more of a matte appearance. Overall a great buy and love backcounty, I will definitely order from them again!

I recently ordered both the Nuptse vest and the patagonia equivalent to decide between the two. I found the Nuptse to be somewhat warmer, puffier, and roomier, best as an outer layer. The patagonia was lower profile, therefore had more utility as a layering piece. I liked the Nuptse fabric better, it had a softer hand, and the fleece and the neck and pockets was yummy. The patagonia didn't have this. The neck also had more room than the patagonia. In the end, I went with the patagonia because it could function as a layer and fit closer to the body, but I really wanted both. Overall the Nuptse was the kind of vest you want to curl up in and wear all the time, it's so comfy.

The vest runs a little big but I love mine.

I love it! It keeps me warm. This is very important in North Dakota. It is true to size and fits very well. My girlfriends love it also. The service was outstanding (as usual). The price was the lowest from all stores online and offline that sold the vest.

I love this vest! It is so light and so warm! I have the Nutspe Jacket as well and will eventually by the full length hooded coat.

I love the color and I love the warmth this vest provides. It has a slim fit (long and lean look) which is nice, otherwise I would probably look like the Michelin man. The North Face vest is great! It is perfect for many applications. It is warm and excellent for layering. I love to wear my vest. I got it a week ago and have worn it almost every day since. Even in the cold weather, it keeps you very warm. Besides, the color, white with a brown liner, is unique and practical. There is no other vest I would want!

This vest was warm, but super puffy, so I couldn't imagine layering it. I ended up with a Patagonia vest, which was just right!

My absolute favorite piece of outer wear! I have it in white and wear it so much that now I want the black as well! (wasn't keen on the pink color). I get compliments all the time (guys and gals). It's great to wear open on warmer days - and - layered, closed and accented with scarf and gloves on colder days! I have tried MANY other winter vests and none compare!

Nice but a bit bulky. Wore it today at work and was comfortable. Not only kept me warm but at lunch used the collar as a pillow and slept like a baby. I recommend this product

We sized down as the other reviewers said (thanks!) and the fit is great. My step daughter is hard on everything so durability matters. She has worn it non-stop for almost a month and it is still is in great shape. Chalk one up for durability, warmth and fit (after the size down).

LOVE THIS VEST!!I got this vest just before the BIG snow storm hit here in Colorado, and being the native that I am wore this vest and a long sleeve t-shirt out and was sooooo warm! The pocket and neck lining is so soft and warm you dont even need gloves. The downside- if you got the white one you know- it gets super dirty, and can only be washed by hand. But I love it and would reccommend it to anyone!

The vest is adorable and keeps you super warm. It just runs really big. I bought a medium and probably could of gotten an XS. Normally I am a small but wanted to be able to wear heavy things underneath it. Although this vest is really really hard to find in any size but large. The white color is really cute too.

I love this vest. It's the perfect weight and it doesn't get dirty since it doesn't have the sleeves. I wear it all the time with my 3 year old and 6 month old in tow and it's perfect -- and very stylish -- and so warm. There's no need to second guess this jacket!

It's very lightweight and doesn't make me feel too puffy. I bought it in Spice Red; my only wish would be that the lining were a color other than gray. But, I can live with the gray. It's cozy to wear and easy to throw on. Love it!

Just like the great reviews said, this vest is a winner. Definitely sized on the large size, but well cut, comfy, and super warm.

This was a Christmas gift for my granddaughter. She absolutely loves it. She's on her high school ski team and now all the kids want them. Some have even suggested they become part of the official ski team's uniform.

I purchased this vest for a ski trip and general winter wear. It is awesome - soft, warm and attractive. I got foam green and love it. It keeps me very warm. It does run a tad big. I am about 5' 4", 118lbs. and got the small. It allows for several layers, but x-small might have been a better choice since I don't usually wear several layers. My boys stuck it between their heads and used it as a pillow on a long car ride. It is that soft! Great purchase!

My daughter,for whom the vest was purchased, swears by her choice. She asked for and was given the white one last year, and requested the black one this year. The only reason for her return was size. She needed one size larger, but she is 6' tall and this item looks like it was designed for her!

It was her favorite gift this Christmas.

The brownie looks darker in person than images on the site, no big deal. Great quality and especially the price, my wife likes it a lot. You can't even get this price at The North Face outlet store!!!

it's just so cute..and warm..so it satisfied both. but one thing sad about is...it's not puffy as much as it looks on the screen...i ordered xs and i normally wear size 2 or 4..and it leaves too much room between my sweater and the vest. but 90%satisfied..

This vest is awesome, the best vest that I owe. I bought the brownie brown and it goes with everything, you can dress it up or dress it down. I am even thinking about getting another one. And they had great customer service!!

I am 5'8 140lbs with a large chest. In most shirts and coats I am normally a large and I got this vest in a small and it fits perfect! I also have some room to layer underneath.

I bought the North Face Nuptse Vest and then returned it. I prefer a vest that is a bit more tailored. It overwhelmed me a bit - I like less bulk. However, I think it would work for quite a number of people.. it was warm and the design was inoffensive. In general, I believe North Face product is accessible for most people...so if you don't mind a bit of bulk then you'll probably love this vest.

Insulated super well, not as bulky as I thought it would be. fits true to size and is very packable if you want to take it hiking. It fits really nice under a shell if you want to help insulate.

I initially ordered a small in this vest but, much to my horror, I got an email that they were out of that size!! I was crushed... but I called the very helpful sales guy and I decided to go with the XS... I'm 5'8 and about 135... and I'm SO GLAD I did! The XS fits perfectly for a fitted look....and I can still layer stuff underneath.

very puffy and warm. The white is actually slightly off-white, does not match bright true white.

According to the size chart, I am an XS. I was so disappointed when I tried the vest on and it was too big. Whatever size you are on the chart, go about 2 sizes down for an accurate fit. When the vest is snug fitting, the puffyness in the upper back will go away! Other than the size issue, the material is so soft and comfortable. It truly keeps you very warm as well.

I bought this vest for Spring which in Chicago can still be a cold time of year. The color is great and a nice contrast to the dark winter coat colors.
Despite not having any arms the vest manages to keep me incredibly warm and comes up nice and high around the back of the neck.
Although the vest is extremely puffy it does pack down small and is great to stuff in a travel bag - it just returns to it's puffy self when unpacked with no problem.
The vest has a great shape which is flattering so despite it being very puffy it doesn't make me look like the Michelin Man.

i'm returning this one; it's super light and fluffy, but i wish it was tailored better to showcase at least a bit of the curvature of the waist. i purchased a 'small'. fits like a medium, leaving room for at least 2 -3 layers. i needed something more form fitting, at least around the waist.

This is a super nice vest which is very warm and stylish. It is also very well constructed. Highly recomended.

I bought the North Face Nuptse down vest for my wife and she absolutely loves it. She normally wears a size small and I ordered her a small and it fits her perfectly. She also loves the cut, it's flattering to wear, but is still comfortable. Her favorite feature is that the zipper goes all the way up (her old down jacket only zipped up to the collar, not all the way). She's also a fan of the soft lining. There isn't anything about this vest that she doesn't like.
