The North Face Mountain Sneaker - Men's

Hippies, beware—you're about to fall in love with the recycled- and renewable-material The North Face Men's Mountain Sneaker. This low-top trainer features 100% eco-aware materials, from the spun-bamboo tweed and metal-free suede upper, to the cork midsole and post-consumer recycled rubber outsole. If you doubt that these natural materials are up to the challenge of heavy use, think again. The Mountain Sneaker is built to The North Face standards, with an aggressive multi-purpose tread, crepe-rubber toe and heel rands, and sturdy double stitching throughout. A Tibetan prayer-flag tag accent (made from recycled soda bottles) calls out the Mountain Sneaker's planet-friendly mission.

Bottom Line: Au naturale never looked this good or performed this well.

Poor quality

I loved this shoe for the first 2 months when I noticed the glue on the toe started to disintegrate. After wearing them for a good 4 months the whole shoe was coming apart. NF has gone down hill in my opinion!!??!! I plan on sending them back today.

Comfy

Very comfy shoes. Nice blue suede. A little heavier than I thought they'd be but doesn't make much of a difference.

Where are these made, and under what sort of working conditions?

Where are these made, and under what sort of working conditions? If you're truly trying to present a responsible shoe, this should have been factored in...

These are facts.

These shoes are a bit on the heavy side. However, they seem to be extremely durable and they look good. I had a sizing issue and had to send them back for a half size larger. Overall I would say they are worth purchasing.

Odd sizing.

By:

I had a sizing issue with these shoes. I bought 2 pair, one 11.5 and one 12. 11.5 was way too small and the 12 was half size too big. One of them might have been a factory defect, not sure. Too bad, I liked the look of the shoes, they just dont fit right.

Love 'em

I bought these for my boyfriend, and he loves 'em. The fit is true to size, they are almost as comfortable as skate shoes, and I think they look good too.

Not very durable

I loved these shoes; however, they are not very durable. One of them did not even last one year.

Comfy & Tough

Very comfy, and they feel very solidly built. Took them on a rough hike through the Samaria Gorge in Crete and they stayed comfy all day, and didn't get chewed up by the rocks. Highly recommended!

i loved these... loved

By:
May 16, 2008

I heard great things about these shoes- and loved them. sure, a little heavier than I thought as well but really, really comfy. But I had them for two months, and didn't even wear them everyday (can't to work) and they were falling apart- the toe glue was coming off, the inside of the shoe near the hell was shredded, i mean shredded. I sent them back to TNF...on my dime of course, and have to wait 8 weeks to find out if I get a new pair or not... wonder why I no longer buy any The North Face gear...hmmmm

Mountain style with class. You can't ask more than that. Oh yeah, you can- comfort, which they also have. Great shoe.

this shoe is comfortable, stable in rocky terrain, and looks sweet. great shoe. the fit is a big large...i wear a 13 regularly, and this shoe is a bit loose. maybe that was the intended idea to make it more comfortable...
