Is this a waterproof jacket? Could it be used for skiing?

Hi Jody - this jacket is actually fleece, and is not waterproof. If you are looking for a waterproof jacket for skiing here are a couple of suggestions:
-North Face girls Mountain Light Jacket (uninsulated waterproof shell)
-North Face girls Blizzard Jacket (Insulated waterproof jacket)
-North Face Mountain View Triclimate (waterproof shell with removable fleece liner jacket)

No it's not. You could use it for spring skiing or as a midlayer for winter skiing, but it's not especially warm (200 weight), it's not windproof so your warmth will get stripped away pretty quickly while you're skiing, and it's not waterproof at all. I'd recommend it only as a midlayer under a windproof, waterproof outer layer or as a spring jacket for walking around in, not a winter ski jacket.
