The North Face Meridian Pant is a lightweight and packable trekking and adventure pant. Lightweight construction and two side seam pockets make these pants airy, breathable, and ready for most any excursion. A zippered cargo pocket on the left leg lets you stash your valuables in case of trail pirates. Yarrrr.
Bottom Line: The Meridian Pant is ready when you are.
I sweat a lot. If I'm backpacking and it's above 50 degrees outside, then I'm usually wearing shorts and shrugging off bug bites, thorns and looking for ticks when I get to camp. But these lightweight pants breathe so well, I can finally wear pants in warmer temps and actually be comfortable - and the nylon is still strong enough to withstand the backcountry. They also have a gusseted crouch - which is a must have feature for me. Other technical features are various pocket sizes/types (zipper, hook and loop closure and rear packable), a drawstring belt and an "athletic fit". A great all-around summer weight pant.
I wore these pants on a recent trip to Colorado and they were great! Did some spring hiking in them and spring in Co. can mean anything! Mud, snow, rain, and 75 degree temps(all in one day!) The pants dried very quickly and the size was exactly what I needed. I am 6 ft.6 and all legs. The xl long fit perfect. The dark color also hid the grit so you can wear them for multiple days and not look like a bum. Great pants!
I wanted to get my boyfriend a lightweight but durable pair of pants suitable for hiking in the horrible humid summer heat. Due to the great reviews, I got this pair and so far he seems to be incredibly happy with them. They're very breathable and light, but haven't snagged or ripped even through scrambles through bushes and down mountains.
These pants are awesome. I wore them for almost the entirety of the past weekend while backpacking in Big South Fork, TN. They are comfortable, durable, and warm, while also being waterproof, lightweight and packable. I love them.
These are great pants for backpacking, scrambling over boulders and climbing and they do a good job of keeping you dry in a light rain storm. They are very comfortable and I like them for kicking around the yard and house as much as I like them in the mountains. Worth buying!
The quality of these pants is very good. They are very lightweight, breathable, and yet durable. The pockets are very convenient. The waist has a drawstring which prevents the need of a belt. However, I am 6 feet 9 inches tall, and even though these pants were listed as being "tall", they are still about an inch or two too short. This is just another example of discrimination against tall people committed by clothing retailers. I would appreciate if some well known clothing provider, such as North Face, would make clothing for everyone who enjoys the outdoors, including really tall people.
Lightweight, comfortable, and cost effective. These are nice pants for canoeing, camping or any activity where lightweight, wind-resistant and quick-drying properties are important.
Lightweight, cool, and quick to disperse water or sweat. Pretty rugged - they have been through a lot of stickers without showing any damage. I like all of the pockets, and the elastic waist band provides a just enough give to keep them from falling down.
I bought my first pairs of North Face pants and shorts in Italy this summer, where an unexpected heat wave made me want to unload all the heavy cotton pants I had brought with me. They were PERFECT - comfortable, polenty of useful securable pockets, and best of all - LIGHTWEIGHT! Plus these pants are fairly tough for their weight. When I got back to the States, I shopped online to get more of the Northface Meridian line, but apparently these are in closeout mode at most outlets, including Backcountry. Too bad, unless another model will replace them almost intact. These are GREAT lightweight travel pants - highly recommended.
For the money i think they are the best pants out there. I took them out on an overnight trip where it rained off and on. I never got wet in them, and the parts of the pants that had water go through dried within 60 seconds. I would totally promote these North Face pants. They are a good buy
These are a very well thought out pair of pants. I used them on a 28-mile backpack trip this past weekend. I didn't break out the clean pair I intended to change into mid-trip because I liked them so much. The pockets are a great size. On one leg my GPS fits in a pocket and there is another pocket beside it that is the same size. The other leg had room for my camera and a map and the back pocket is zippered. I used that to hold my trash and trash I found along the trail. I haven't found uses for the other pockets yet but I am sure I will. I am going to get another pair so I don't have to settle for anything less on my next trip. These are really great pants.
