The North Face Longhaul 21 Rolling Gear Bag - 2000cu in

Pack The North Face Longhaul 21in Pack for your weekend getaways. This carryon bag's wheels and retractable handle make it easy to pull through the airport. Stash your travel documents in the two external pockets and head to the gate. The North Face Longhaul's internal organization pockets make it easy to find your toothbrush and shampoo when you get to the hotel, so you can wash-up and head straight to bed without completely unpacking. The Longhaul 21in Pack's large main compartment compresses with an X-bungee, so you can squeeze a few souvenirs in on the way back home.

Bottom Line: Checking luggage for a weekend trip is just a drag. Pack your clothes in The North Face carryon Longhaul 21in Pack and roll right to the gate.

Great bag for a 2-3 day trip

By:

Bought this bag for business trips which typically run 2-3 days. For that it is perfect. The bag is smaller than many carry-on bags. If you need to take an extra pair of shoes you aren't going to have a lot of room left over. However with the compression straps I can easily fit a pair of steel toed boots and a couple days clothes and personal items. Definitly will NOT hold ski boots...so if you are looking for a carry on that doubles as a boot bag look elsewhere. The construction is solid, the wheels look indestructible, and the handle seems to be pretty solid. The good thing about the smaller size is that airlines that fly regional jets will allow you to carry this on and not gate check it, which is a big plus for me anyhow. If you need a good bag to get you through 2-3 days tops, look no further. If your looking to avoid baggage fees and fit a weeks worth of clothes in your carry-on this bag is not for you.

Quality not quantity...

Typical for anything The North Face, this is a high quality product. However, I found the compartment(s) somewhat small compared to similar sized rolled luggage. For me, really couldn't hold more than two days worth of clothes - at most.

Anyone know if these rollers have padded laptop sleeves? I saw

Anyone know if these rollers have padded laptop sleeves? I saw a lot of folks thought this model was too small, but North Face has a 26 and a 30 in the Longhaul rollers. I'm curious if any of these have laptop sleeves, doubtful but still curious.

No laptop sleeve on this one. An option for a killer carry-on piece is The North Face Overhaul 40 - it is a backpack and no wheels, but a killer laptop bag that is designed to carry a couple of extra days worth of clothes.

Nice quality, but too small....

By:
September 16, 2008

I bought it, I got it and it's kinda of small. I travel light, really light, and even I was pressed to get more than a couple of days worth of stuff in it. That being said, it is not as small as it looks and the outside pockets do hold stuff, but I don't take little stuff. I ended up buying an Osprey carry-on and the NF will be for weekends.

great carry-on roller

By:
November 14, 2009

Bought it for my wife who was looking for a carry-on roller for short trips. Typical North Face high quality, the wheels and retractable handle look like they'll last forever. I've seen some reviews say it's (too) small, but it is what it is; no 33L pack is meant for week-long trips. That being said, the compression straps allow you to really cram stuff inside if necessary.

Perfect for an overnight

By: Backcountry.com Employee

I wouldn't buy this product to head to Hawaii for the week, unless you're just packing your swim trunks, but it's great for an overnight or two night business trip. It's built to take getting banged up by the airline if you want to check it, but it's small enough to carry on and throw in the overhead (depending on who you fly with). Overall it's a great rolling bag, that's high quality and rolls better than any bag I've ever had, but it's not for those packing heavy or going on long trips.
