If your astrologist said you'd find comfortable pants today, you got good advice. The North Face's Libra Cargo Pants are made from soft cotton and get more comfortable every time you wear them. The front and side pockets of these women's pants have secure closures so you don't have to worry about losing your enchanted crystals or horoscope rolls anymore. The Libra Cargo Pants have a relaxed fit with slightly flared leg openings to ensure you feel great during your mellow day.
Bottom Line: The North Face Libra Cargo Pants—a true sign of comfort.
I love these pants, but I find that the cut varies pretty wildly from pair to pair. I bought a pair in a store and fell in love with them, and so ordered 2 more pair off of Backcountry, but will have to return one pair because the waist is gaping on me (and the other is slightly tight)! I'm 5'11"/135lbs, and usually wear an 8L, but wear a 6L in these. If you can find a pair that fits you, they are AWESOME. The cut is flattering for those of us who have hips and a butt - the slightly relaxed fit and bootcut combo are sweeet. So, TNF, thank you for making pants for us tall ladies, but please have your factories in India turn out a more standardized product :)
I bought these pants for a hiking trip in the Smoky Mountains. They were perfect for the trail we were on because some parts were muddy, so I just rolled the bottom of the pants up into capris. Plenty of pocket space, and the leg pocket fit my digital camera perfectly. I believe they fit pretty true to size I am 5 ft 4 1/2 in and weigh 123 lbs and the size 6 regular(I usually wear size 4-6) is a comfortable fit w/ plenty of moving space. Amazing pants for causal wear, but also practical for casual day hiking trips.
Dixie, I'm 5'11" and the long version of these pants fit me perfectly. Just be careful - I find that the waist size varies pretty wildly from pant to pant. I bought a pair in a store, then ordered 2 more from backcountry, and they all fit differently! Made in India, I guess? For this reason, I'd recommend buying them in person.
And in case you need some confirmation, I've got an older version of TNF Libra Cargo pants and I'd guess the inseam on a 12 Long is between 33" and 34".
I was worried about the material since they were considered "lightweight". I got them in the brown and I love them. They are soft cotton pants. Just what I was looking for. They are what I would say a relaxed fit or easy cut through the hips and thighs which allowed me to wear a size down from what I wore this summer (even other TNF). These are the best pants ever!!
I give them five stars, even though they're just pants. That said, I highly recommend them. Of course, I highly recommend any The North Face Pants. I own at least 8 pairs, and I wear them all frequently. They're functional enough for the trail, but flattering enough for the more casual office, as well.
they changed the style of these pants from the last time i purchased them. the ones i have have pockets on both sides near the knee, also flap pockets in the back---with a great fit--the reviews on them were excellent--don't know why mfg would change the design ----what a great pant and i would like them again in every color but......the new design does not look as good as the ones i purchased before. please tell mfg and please help me find the ones i originally purchased---they were that good
Check geartrade.com for used, older models of this pant. North Face isn't going to change the model back to the way it was because miss chris doesn't like them.
I just received these pants today, washed them, and am wearing them now (with a belt). I was pleasantly surprised with how they fit. I have a terrible time finding pants. I am 5'1 and 124 lbs (I carry most of my weight on the bottom half of my body). I can wear a 4p or 6p in Ann Taylor pants or 8p in Sonoma pants from Kohls. I ordered a size 8p in these pants and, after washing, find that they are slightly looser than I would like them too be, but not falling off me. I think I could probably fit into a 6p, but I want to wear these pants hiking so I do want them to be loose fitting. My only complaint is that they are too long for me - which is a problem I almost always have with pants. I could wear them with heels just fine, but with tennis shoes they are going to be hanging on the ground. If these pants were about 2 inches shorter they would be perfect. I got the gray and am very happy with the color. I would order another pair (any color) in 6p but unfortunately they are not in stock.
I just got the new color Bittersweet Brown. Like dark chocolate and very wearable. I'm such a fan of the Libra Cargo that I ordered regular length (perfect for me at 5'6" with hiking boots) and the long length just in case I want to wear them with a pair of Frye's with a higher heel. I travel with these, wear them in the veld and the bush every year, in winter and summer, and am more impressed every year with their comfort and durability not to mention their flattering fit. Give great booty!
These pants rock! They are very comfortable and fit well (i'm also size 16)but I would not recommend them for walking pants. Everyday casual or hiking pants, yes. I love the double buttons that ensure the pants stay rolled up when wearing them as capris. I would recommend the NF Nimbus Capri pant for walking, they move and are cozy!!! Good Luck :)
I have these in every color, in 6 and 8 (both fit with more or less slouch). Soft, slimming (even when loose), flattering to the posterior, nice drape to the leg when worn with trainers or boots or flats. Pockets are pretty useless except to tuck your hands in nonchalantly, but doesn't bother me. I wear them year round in Northern California, and in South Africa's winter every year (immersion trips). They travel easily and are softer and less wrinkel prone with age. When the winter wind blows, layer with Cap 3 pants.
these pants are great! they look good and feel good, and are very reasonably priced, perfect for travel...the picture doesn't do them justice, they are actually pretty flattering for girls with bit of a butt (like me!)...and in fact, i'm getting my second pair. i normally wear a size 4 (gap, banana republic, you name it), but the size 6 fit perfectly.
I like the style of the pants, would have liked the material to be lighter in weight and I found the waist to be a little big. All in all i like them and will wear them often.
actually, this is a response to angus bohanon, who needs to find something better to do with his/her time than make sarcastic, snide comments to people just looking for useful information.
They're just pants, nothing special about them. If it's cold outside, you might get cold, but you could still wear them. If it's hot, you might get sweaty, but wear them you could. They're your pants, wear them whenever you feel so inclined.
I own these pants in two colors and love them! I normally wear a size 6 and found that I can wear either a 4 or 6 in these pants (in fact I own both sizes), depending on how loose you want them. Very comfortable!
These pants are so comfortable. I wore them on the Inka trail to Machu Picchu and they were perfect. Great for casual wear or for the trail. Did I mention they are comfortable?
I was going to pass over these pants based on the photos, but the reviews were so good, I took a leap of faith. I'm 5'3", 115 and the 4short fit me very well (length closer to ground than I normally like, but I figure I need to account for cotton shrinkage which inevitably happens). They are indeed light and soft and so comfortable. My one complaint would be the buttoning system TNF created. There's one inside button above the zipper and then a two inch tab you see in the photos that you button down with 2 buttons... takes a long time for me to get out of the bathroom, but I suppose I'm assured that my pants are securely on. I would also appreciate bigger side pockets (see TNF Paramount Propel) but the zipper is nice to keep things secure.
These pants are really comfortable AND flattering! Tough enough for play, but nice enough for a casual office. I found them to be true to size, I'm a 6 and that's what fit me here. They also haven't stretched out at all which is a plus. Best of all, they are long! I haven't measured them, but I'd say the inseam on my longs is about 34".... I don't think that the size chart is quite accurate.
I bought these pants for work. Great for spring and summer. Not so great for winter work. I have to wear long underwear underneath. I love the style and the loose fit.
I bought these pants for the pockets. But as soon as I put anything slightly heavy (like a wallet) into a pocket, they slide down and look like something a teen aged snowboarder would wear. A smaller size might have stayed up better, but would not have been the relaxed, comfortable pants described. A belt will be required for these pants to be of any use at all.
These pants fit me perfect which is hard for me to find. They're lightweight and cool in the heat. It doesn't say it in the description, but these pants can be converted into capris. They have 2 button closures on each pant leg which ensures the the capris won't turn back into pants unless you do it yourself. This feature is great for when I'm riding my bike and need to keep the pant leg out of the chainring. Overall, a very comfortable pant that fits well.
i love the look of these pants. quality is great, color is great, it was a bit too tight in the front of the waist though. I love how they hike up at the bottom too. i am really bummed they didnt work out. but it just ruined the whole look being too tight in one place.
These pants are so comfortable and very cute. I too have a really hard time finding pants that fit well and these pants fit perfectly. I love that they can be both pants and capris, it makes them very multi-purpose. Definitely worth the investment!
I owned many pairs of the 2007 version and loved them. The new version does not fit me well. I am 5'7", 120 lbs. and I wore a 2 long in the old version. I ordered the new ones in a 2L and they are way too baggy on me. They don't sell a smaller size! I find this very odd because I am not super skinny. What do people smaller than me wear?
I usually wear a 4/6 and ordered these in a 4. They're great! Slimming, soft and look great at home or around town. I'm 5'4" and did need to have these shortened, but I'm used to that. Wish there were more colors. Overall, highly recommended.
Love them from wearing them in the winter tucked into the Sorels amoungst 3 ft of snow to wearing them with Chacos rolled up to the capri look. Super comfortable!! I ordered a size 10 to wear with a belt and size 8 and both fit great.
The pants are very good looking and are well constructed but beware ... they run smaller than average sizing. I usually wear a Size 14 pant. Ordered a 16 and a 14 (because I'd never tried this brand before) and after trying to wiggle into the 16, I didn't even open the package on the smaller size. Ordered different cargo pants from another source ... 14 fits just fine. Maybe it's the cut of the pant???
