The North Face Lexicon Backpack - 1525cu in - 2008

It's annoying to have a waist-belt strap hit the backs of your legs when you carry your lightweight gym clothes across town, but it's equally as rough to have sore shoulders because of a heavy load and no waist support. The North Face made the Lexicon Backpack with a removable hip-belt. A main compartment with a mesh sleeve and a secondary compartment with organization features let you divide up your belongings, and a tricot-lined accessory pocket keeps your sunglasses or iPod safe from scratches.

Bottom Line: Pack the Lexicon for short hikes and trips to the gym.

I need a north face backpack for my 26 yr old son. Laptop during week and misc on weekends. no hiking, etc. He has very plain (dark green heavy cotton/twill? material) north face backpack that was probably among first line produced. what about the lexicon? tight budget

Love it

I love the Lexicon because it fits all my books and clothes for classes and work during the day, but I know it will be great for hiking too. The pockets in the front section are great for electronics like an ipod and cell phone, or school supplies such as pens and a calculator. The inside is roomy with zippers that go low on the sides so it's easy to fit big things like my laptop in without trouble. Comfortable to wear and has a strap around stomach for extra support. The camo color is a nice if you want to stray from the solid colors but don't want to go crazy since it's just different shades of green and only a little dark brown.

No, it's not.I'd recommend a Camelbak pack. Not only are you getting a fantastic pack from Camelbak, you're getting the best hydration system on the market.Take a look at the Alpine Explorer:http://www.backcountry.com/store/CAM0230/CamelBak-Alpine-Explorer-Hydration-Pack-3L.html
