The North Face Kira Triclimate Jacket - Women's

Your eco-conscience and your desire to stay warm and dry during nasty winter storms now have something in common—The North Face Kira Triclimate Jacket. The North Face made the Kira’s removable liner with 100% recycled polyester fiber.

  • Heatseeker Eco liner snaps out for on-the-hill weather changes
  • HyVent 2L fabric and fully taped seams block wetness
  • Powder skirt keeps snow out during yard-sales
  • Button-out liner system means you can use the shell’s interior pockets even when liner is attached

Bottom Line: Earth- and storm-friendly.

Some other sites indicate that their coats are good for 5 degree to - 25 F or - 45 F. Is there any range of temperture that this coat can claim to protect from?

Hi Christine - The North Face's policy has always been to stay away from temperature ratings with regards to it's apparel line. It is very subjective from one person to another as far as their personal physiology, and what kind of activity the jacket is going to be used for.
Activity use will have the greatest impact on how I recommend different jackets to different people. Triclimates like the Kira tend not be pieces that people use in high aerobic activities like cross country skiing. So the bottom line is that I would probably recommend this insulation package without much layering under it down to about the low teens for general use. Below that, I would probably recommend one of system jackets like The North Face Down Triclimate for colder temperature ranges because of it's 550 fill down liner jacket that will provide more warmth that the 100 gram synthetic liner that the Kira uses.
Hope this helps-

Is the inner liner made with fleece on this jacket?

It isn't- it is a nylon shell with synthetic insulation in it. I think it is a really nice upgrade from a fleece jacket- it is warmer, better wind resistance, and more water resistant with a DWR finish. All of these are nice bonus features if the liner jacket is worn on it's own. I also like the way these liner jackets slide in and out of the shell- they are much easier to get in and out than fleece liners.
Hope this helps.
