The North Face Kelvin Glove

Big, steep couloirs, massive frozen icefalls, huge stormy peaks – The North Face Kelvin Glove loves every minute of it. This waterproof breathable glove keeps you dry thanks to a HyVent shell and a Gore-Tex insert, and warms your chilly digits with PrimaLoft synthetic insulation. The extended gauntlet with a shockcord and cinch strap closure seals nasty weather out of the glove, and a chamois wipe on the thumb takes care of drippy noses. A carabiner clip on the finger lets you stash the Kelvin on your harness for quick gloveless tasks.

Bottom Line: The Kelvin craves gnarly conditions in epic locations.

How does the size run on these? For example, according to the Burton sizing chart my hand is a medium, but when I went to the store and tried gloves on it turned out I had to buy XL gloves. Would that be the case with these gloves?

Good But Stiff

By:

The North Face Kelvin Glove is typical The North Face: solid, well-made, technically accurate and adequate, abundant in features and form. This glove is cut kinda different that any previous TNF glove (and indeed I own at least 5 pairs). By that, I mean, that the Kelvin glove is sized small but overall and in the dimension between the finger tip and palm heel. Hence, the glove feels rather tight in any gripping position. I am hoping that the glove stretches with use, at least some. The quality of construction is impressive, as is the gauntlet size and function. While not inexpensive, this glove is worth the money, if you need a tough, multi-season, insulated glove.

Beautiful, but small

The are very nice gloves, they appear strong an well made. Great gauntlets, and they are waterproof! The only problem with them is that they are very small. I do have large hands, but normally an XL will work for me, these are more like I'm trying to squeeze into a large.
