The North Face Jemma Backpack - Women's - 1500cu in - 2007
The North Face designed the Women's Jemma Backpack with a comfortable foam-padded back panel and ultra padded shoulder straps for less pressure. This pack has plenty of room for books, and a removable waist-belt adds support when your educational load gets rather heavy. A universal laptop sleeve protects your 13in 'puter. Organize your writing utensils, business cards, and lip balm in the front organizer pocket, stick some beverages in the side mesh pockets, and cram a windbreaker in the front bungee. The North Face specked the Jemma Backpack with reflective hits to keep you visible when you ride your bike home from night class.
Bottom Line: The North Face Jemma Backpack's cushy padding keeps you comfortable on journeys across campus.
i want to buy this for my daughter for college, but i just want to make sure there will be enough room for what she needs. is it going to hold her laptop (it's 13" so i know it will fit in the compartment), and a couple of textbooks and spirals?
great pack! the straps don't scratch my skin when i wear it to the beach. the marsupial pocket in front is great for instant access. it's a perfect size to carry my Eee PC. perfect as a carry on flight bag, light yet roomy with lots of organzing pockets.
Well the Jemma is 1500cu, and the Amira is 1600cu, so the Jemma is smaller, if only by a small margin. I would say that the Amira has more features, but I don't know what you specifically want, so I can't really help too much.
So cute and comfortable. I'm a college student and I walk to campus and because the jemma isn't huge I have to carefully select what I'm going to take with me- in the end this is to my benefit because I can't pack so much in that it becomes heavy and cumbersome. A tight fit for my MacBook pro (17 in) but it still works and I like that it isn't at all bulky. I have white and am a little concerned with it getting dirty...any recommendations for cleaning it?
At first I wanted the North Face Isabella because of its cute, compact size, but after advice from my mom I purchased Jemma. It turned out to be an excellent choice because of all its compartments and its bigger size. I am a senior in high school taking a lot of classes, and this bag can easily hold many of my textbooks and folders, as well as store my calculator, wallet, cell phone, etc. It keeps me very organized and does not hurt my back or arms when I am carrying a lot- overall it is an extremely great product!
I was looking for a backpack that would be good to use around campus. I love this one a lot because its not to big or bulky. Even with its small shape I can fit all my books in it just fine. I think if you want a smaller but good purpose backpack this is the one.
This is a great day pack and it's functional. There is a spot for a laptop and still leaves a lot of room for other stuff. The front pocket holds pens, keys, wallet, a book etc. My only complaint is that it doesn't have the strap to go across the chest. The shoulder straps are a tad wide for me and I feel that the should strap would make it hang a little bit more comfortably.
I purchased the backpack primarily for hiking in Ireland. As I am fairly petite, I wanted a bag that could hold the necessities, but wasn't too bulky. The backpack was suitable for multiple occasions including carry-on luggage (held a portable DVD, iPod and one outfit, shoes and cosmetics). Unbelievable how much it held for its size - departments helped keep things organized! Love it!
Everyone has the Jester.. says my daughter. The Jemma is perfect for a student who needs ample room for text books and compartments for all the other stuff!Plus it is not overwhelming for a middleschool girl..she is psyched!
The Jemma is perfect for day hikes. I carried water and snacks for my 3 younger children and me on our recent 5 mile hike in the Smokies. The padding on the shoulder straps made the pack very comfortable, even with the weight of several bottles of water. Perfect size for a petite frame too. It never felt too heavy or bulky.
High build quality, the laptop pocket inside is padded & is a little bigger than a Macbook, the shoulder straps are tapered in thickness which are very comfortable & nearly perfect for fit. The extra storage pockets are well thought-out & side water bottle pockets are well-designed so bottles don't fall out. Zero complaints. The all-black look is sweet, too! Better than any of the Jansport or Timberland packs i've used before as a daily book/backpack.
