The North Face Impulse Fleece Jacket - Men's - 2007
Whether you're layering up for a cold day on the mountain or a relaxing stroll through town, The North Face Men's Impulse Fleece Jacket keeps you warm and comfortable. The Impulse Fleece's stretchy material allows you to move your arms around while you're on a hardcore hike or madly waving to your friends across the street. The North Face's two zipper pockets keep your hands warm, and a hem cinchcord keeps the Impulse Fleece from bunching up.
Bottom Line: Zip into The North Face Impulse Fleece Jacket and follow your instincts while it keeps you toasty.
i've been pairing this with a goretex shell and the combo is great. very breathable and slightly wind resistant make this jacket great for inbounds hiking
I just ordered this jacket in a large, I am 6ft, 185. I read it runs big so I am still wondering if large was a good choice. If need be does this site exchange for other sizes?
i think that size will be ok for you, but if not, Backcountry will do any exchange. they have a 100% guarantee with every product sold, so you can exchange it anytime (tomorrow or in 20 years). This company is the BEST when it comes to that sort of thing.
I got a good deal on this one. Not too impressed, but it makes a nice casual jacket. I have the TKA Stealth, and like it much better. Much warmer too. For fit. Im 5'8" and built, the medium is a nice fit as I find larges are a bit long for me.
This fleece is awesome. Not incredibly warm and doesn't block a ton of wind, but it does make a great mid layer. I wear it under the BC.com Shift Welder and the combo is bulletproof. That said, it's very comfortable and stylish. Runs a bit big, I typically wear a M, but dropped to a S in this fleece and it fits great (5'7", 165lbs, Athletic Build). The basin blue color looks so much better than the monitor display.
I think you need to be more specific about what jacket you would want it to zip into. I didn't even realize anyone was making the zip ins anymore, it is just extra weight in my mind to have the extra zippers.*this is more of a zipper question. different zippers will have different spacing and thickness to the teeth of the zipper. in order for something to be "zip-in compatible", the liner must have the right zipper to match that of the shell. Most jackets (liner-type or shell) that are zip-in compatible will have the same type zipper so that they work together, often even cross-brand. Having that said, I don't know if this fleece has that or not.
This jacket is only about as warm as a standard sweatshirt or light fleece. However, it looks good and the fit is nice - not too loose, but not way too tight.
This is my second of three North Face jacket purchases and I have yet to be disappointed. I went to a Major League Baseball game for a "Pups in the Park" night with two boxer doggies and my girlfriend. As the temperature dropped, my jacket was seized by my girlfriend for the night. I'll let you know how warm it is when I get a chance to wear it after I plan a diversion and raid her closet. I especially like the zipper house at the top of the collar which houses the zipper when fully zipped. It takes the irritation out of having a metal zipper againt your neck. If only I could house every "pains in the neck" in my life as creatively as North Face does.
This jacket does not have a tight fit. The more athletic jacket in this same material is called the Momentum Jacket, but the Impulse is a more relaxed fit. In any case, at 5-10" I would go with a medium
I bought this jacket for my boyfriend and he absolutly loves it. It runs a little big but not too much! Very comfortable and easy movement in this jacket!
This jacket keeps the wind out and the heat in. Its very lightweight and works great for layering. Its polyester lining is comfortable, and superstretchy fleece works well against the outside elements. I recommend this jacket.
Gave this jacket to my son for Christmas. It was a replacement for the one he left an the airport in Houston. So, it must be GOOD. He loves it. And, I could not have asked for a better shopping experience. Thanks Backcountry.
I use this North Face as a top layer on warm days and combine it with my Helly Hansen shell on colder days for skiing. The only thing I don't like about it is that it is too wide around the waist for me. I am pretty tall (6'5") and not the thinnest person, but if I want the arms to be long enough I needed to buy an XL. I love the stretchy feel though!
