The size is adjusted with a synch chord that pulls out the back of the hat. Similar to adjusting the hood on a shell.

A couple of months back at a beer festival in Forest Park (St. Louis) I received quite the sunburn, mostly to the top of my head and areas that I thought I'd covered with sunblock, but the sun disagreed. I was told by my wife-to-be that I have to start wearing a brimmed hat on such occasions (i.e. not a baseball cap). So we bought this hat. It's not really my style, but I'm getting use to it, and now have a full scalp of skin - and hair - to show for it.

Does this hat effectively protect against UV?

Naturally by wearing a hat like this it will protect you from the sun, however there is no UVA, UVB specified protection.

Check out that link- This is Columbia's Omni-Shade collection. I don't see there are any hats right now but keep watching our stock or check for this item elsewhere. As far as I'm concerned, Columbia is the only brand with something like this.
