The North Face (Hot Shot) Vostok Backpack - 1850cu in - 2008
The North Face Vostok Backpack might hold your books, keys, and water bottles like a lot of other backpacks, but it's this daypack's front circle design that'll entertain your brain with thoughts of badass, hardcore explorers. The flags circling The North Face logo on this pack remind you of the team of six international explorers and sled dogs who battled 100-mile winds and minus 125 degrees Fahrenheit temps in the spirit of adventure. The molded, mesh back panel on this pack keeps your back from getting sweaty as you walk to class, work, or start off on a day hike. When you decide your load isn't heavy enough to warrant the bother of a waist-belt, take the Vostok off and tuck the hip-belt away.
Bottom Line: Everyday thoughts of extraordinary deeds.
This is a really durable, slick backpack. I was thoroughly surprised at how thoughtful North Face was when putting this thing together. The small pockets gets me so organized with loads of convenient and well-sized pockets. And the main compartment is very spacious. There are buckles all over the place for adjustments and for biking. The quality is excellent and durable. I really grew to love this backpack.
Awesome bag! It is the perfect size for just about anything you want to use it for. Thanks to the adjustment clips on the sides and bottom, you can have a nice slim school bag, or when you need the space, undo the clips and you have the room for a good amount of gear. Also the organizer pocket is extremely handy! Tuck away waist straps, comfortable design, plus attractive! Way to go North Face, and also super thanks to BackCountry!
Overall I can't complain. This is a quality backpack that does its job, to hold stuff. I have used it for school, camping, and work and works great for all of them. I also love the brightness of the orange on my pack. Makes me easy to find as well as my bag easy to find! Two things that I don't like so much with the bag is the straps on the bottom would be more versatile if longer, you know if you want to take a small camping trip and strap a sleeping pad to the bottom of the bag. Also I am not a fan of all the little pockets in the front pouch, I lose stuff easily in my backpack. Overall I very much like my orange backpack
No 17" but a 15.4" will fit. Check out this link:http://www.backcountry.com/store/group/41/Daypacks.html#app=price~+group~41+brand~88+sortby~+cat~3+subcat~8+offset~+on_sale~+page_name~Daypacks
