Whether you scramble up slick rock in Arches National Park or hike down a mule trail in the Grand Canyon, you'll be comfortable in The North Face Women's Horizon Utility Short. The durable nylon Horizon Utility Shorts stand up to abrasion from rocks and brush and are quick to dry should you take a dip in the Colorado River outside Moab. Pockets hold snacks, lip gunk, and your ID.
Bottom Line: The North Face Horizon Utility Shorts have you covered when you play outdoors.
I actually had to order these shorts from another vendor as they weren't available here in the size I needed (2 Reg). These are cute and very comfortable - they don't cut in the crotch no matter how much you bend your legs and hips. They dry quickly and have front pockets and a back button pocket. A zip pocket would have been nice. I think the tie belt is really cute but I don't use it b/c I don't like having to untie everytime I have to pee.
I think they are really large in the waist. I have a medium waist (26-27) and small hips (34). I can pull them on & off w/out unzipping or unbuttoning. But with a regular belt they look cute. Good for hiking, kayaking, whatever.
not a great cut if you've got hips. Although they are light weight and quick drying, I'll give them that. Oh and the waist tie is ugly as anything I've ever seen, and just adds to the bad cut!!
A few years back I bought a pair of nylon North Face hiking shorts that still are the BEST. They are very roomy, huge leg openings with huge mesh lined front pockets, a single button-back pocket and best of all, adjustable slip buckels at each side of the non-elastic waiste band for perfect waist adjustment. What is most similar now?
There aren't many shorts that I like, or that I find fit right. I am small (size 2) but I have hips and a butt. These shorts look, great and feel even better. Light weight, quick drying. Perfect for hiking, biking, or a day of shopping and lunching with friends. I first bought the tan pair, and I now plan on buying them in every color! (I also have the utility pants for cooler weather)
