The North Face Horizon Surplus Pant - Men's - 2008
Energy bars, cameras, cell phones, small woodland creatures—all things that fit into the cargo pockets of The North Face Horizon Surplus Pants. There are more, to be sure, but we (and you) don't have all day. There are trails to be conquered in the tough but light Horizon Pant, streams to cross with its quick-drying nylon fabric, tiny Tuscan hillside towns to stroll through in breezy comfort, protected by the Horizon's 30+ UPF rating, and boulders to scramble aided by its gusseted crotch and side stretch waistband. The list goes on here as well…but you should be out the door by now.
usually wear a 32X32 and the 30 longs fit perfect. dont need a belt due to elastic sides as well as drawsting closure and belt loops if the elastic doesnt cut it. feel great climbing, biking, or just casual. have a great assortment of pockets including a hidden zippered pocket in one of the cargo pockets which would be good for keys and what not if you re swimming(an activity where items in normal pockets tend to disappear). only complaint is if you roll up the legs for climbing or biking after a few hours they begin to unroll because the fabric is so light and flexible. still not enough to bring them down fromfive stars though. a great pair for sure
Zip offs shorts are always too short for me, so I went with these pants and love them. I'm 5'11 140 and the 30-long is a perfect fit. They aren't poofy and awkward fitting like some other pants. Good slim fit (but not tight).
These pants are very light wieght and tear resistan however the elastic in the waist allows for them to pull down when bending at the waist and the material doesn't provide much protection for your skin if your rubbing against a rough surface such as rocks. over all they holdup to abuse but you may not
Great for Hiking, Working, or just hanging out at home. I took these pants on a well drilling trip in Honduras...lots of water, lots of mud; At the end of the day I would jump in the shower with the pants on, and the next morning they were clean & dry, and ready for another day of drilling. I have also used them for hiking, and for the very same reasons, they work great. Very comfortable, durable, and easy to clean.
Fantastic, light weight durable pants. I've owned mine for several months now. I'm in law enforcement, and I wear them for work in Miami, and they are great. My only complaint is that the belt loops are a little flimsy, but again, I'm carrying a lot extra around the waist. I just took them on a trip to Costa Rica, and they breathed very well and held up to light duty hiking. Highly recommend. I wear a 36x30 normally, and the 36R fits well.
I wore these pants hiking down orderville canyon in Zion's National Park. The legs were roomy enough to accomadate my knee brace comfortably. They dry very quickly and tolerated climbing and sliding over boulders well, showing little wear. The belt loops survived as well. I look forward to using them on my next trip.
Very comfortable, and cool in warm L.A. weather while packing the cargoes with necessary gear. Love the zippered pocket inside the one cargo pocket!!!!
