The North Face Horizon Cargo Capri - 2008

The North Face made Women's Horizon Cargo Capri from abrasion-resistant nylon so you can rock climb or bushwhack and not ruin them—or your knees and shins. Nylon also dries quickly in case you have to wade through a river during a hike and don't want to wear wet clothes all afternoon. Pockets hold keys, compass, headlamp, ID, snacks, and any other small objects you want to have handy during your adventure. The capri length keeps your bod comfortable in a wide range of temps and gives you more sun protection than shorts.

Bottom Line: Sometimes pants are too warm and shorts don't provide enough coverage from sun or brush—that's when you pull on The North Face Horizon Cargo Capris.

great adventure travel pants

By:

These pants are very lightweight, yet sturdy, fit well and were comfortable. They are a little low riding -( I know it's the style )- but that would be the one thing I would change in the design so that I could crouch without worrying about backside exposure.

Love these pants because of all the pockets but what would make them perfect in my world is if they contained some stretch because they don't entirely move with me. I do like the look of them because they are handy both on the trail and in town but yeah, I'd like to feel as comfortable hanging on a rock as I do in a coffee shop. And the low riding thing I'm just accepting as The Way Things Are but at my age couldn't somebody design pants HIGHER? Overall I do like them.

I wish...

I absolutely loved these... and sadly returned them. I'm 5'3" and the rise is way too long for me; I wish somebody would make adventure gear in petite sizes!!!!

great pants

light weight and comfortable, they are a little loose in the back end but still comfortable (i'm really small so that might be why there is extra butt room). And they dry really quick, i just waded across a creek in them yesterday and they were dry in half hour.

if they were shorter.

I returned them as well, agreeing with the above poster, I am about 5 feet tall and I was swimming in them. They are way light weight, a little too light, I wanted to rock climb in them but they wouldn't have done well for that. Good for summer hiking but way way too long for me.

great pants for adventures in hot climates

By:
August 6, 2008

I got these for a trip to Egypt--these were the most comfortable pants that I had. Very lightweight, wash easily in a sink, quick to dry, and pack well. TNF website says they are UPF50, and they were totally effective in the hot sunny weather in Egypt. I used the drawstring waist to keep these up a little higher in the waist. I'm really short (<5') so these were more like ankle-length pants on me, but again that was perfect for Egypt. My mom liked these so much when she saw them on me, she ordered herself a pair!

not good for work

By:

I guess I was taking a risk, I thought I might be able to wear this for work and play (I work in a casual environment), but the fabric is really shear and the cut unflattering. I would take these camping only. I returned them because I need a more versatile pant.
