Love it!

Great jacket!! It's light weight and extremely comfy. I have long arms and the large fit me perfect. The cuffs weren't tight at all which was nice so I could pull them up if I was getting warm. It's a great jacket for a fall or spring hike!

Nice jacket...

By:
March 20, 2008

The jacket was really nice, but too small. I usually wear a small, but this was too short, and the sleeves were really short. Plus the cuffs were pretty tight. I really loved the hood and the overall look though.

It is not a performance fit for North Face. In general North Face runs a little bigger than others, so I don't think that you need to up-size when you buy this jacket.

Love this jacket

By:
March 20, 2008

Just recieved this in the mail yesterday. I love it. The cannon red color is great. What a great price. I live in Florida and it's 85 degree's here today- so I have not actully gotten to wear this yet. I am almost (almost I said!) wishing it were cooler so I could. I bought this to wear as a layer when we go to Vail, CO next month. I ordered the size large (I am 5'8 & wear a size 8) and it's perfect. It will fit a layer or two underneath just fine and won't be too snug at all. I hate a tight jacket. Great price, fast shipping. Thank you.

Perfect Spring jacket or for layering

By:
May 14, 2008

I bought this jacket to replace another Spring jacket that I have. I have only two minor complaints, and the rest of my comments are positives. The first complaint, is that when the hood is stowed in the collar, I felt that the neck was pretty tight when fully zipped. Second, the elastic around the cuffs are slightly snug. Now for the good stuff.... It's the perfect weight, repels rain awesome and is quite breathable. I wore this jacket with a lightweight fleece vest and long sleeve tee underneath when it was 50 and I was perfect. I bought my jacket a little larger so that I could use this as a 3-season jacket by layering if need be. I love how it packs up small in the left hand pocket which is perfect for when you need a jacket and want to stow one just in case.

I am debating between a med. and lg. If I plan on layering under the jacket, should I go bigger than my size (med.)?

Great Jacket

By:
April 14, 2008

Purchased this jacket for my wife to use on our recent trip to Seattle and for our summer hiking trips in the mountains. It was great in Seattle in the wind and rain. She stayed dry throughout the rain that we got stuckin walking around the city. Great price for the product.

nice jacket

By:
August 3, 2007

I must say that the jacket was nice but it was not what i was looking for so I ended up returning it and will continue to search for a jacket that meets my needs. It was a little heavier that I would like for wearing on rainy summer days.

Great jacket!

By:
May 2, 2006

I bought the blue geosphere jacket about a month ago and have been using it nearly every day. It is very lightweight yet protects against the harshest winds. It's even great for keeping me dry during a rainy day. If you're looking for a jacket that's super compact and feels great too, the Geosphere Jacket is worth every penny!

It's water resistant, but other than that it's just a windbreaker. Don't expect it to keep you warm.

Good buy

By:
June 20, 2006

The online jacket description helped out tremendously and was accurate. I wasn't sure what size I should buy, so the sizing chart helped. I thought the price was reasonable and beat any other stores I researched. I have no complaints about this purchase!

I don't find it to be super short, it hits me little below my hips. And it isn't good in heavy rain obviously. Good for light showers and very good in windy conditions.

almost perfect

By:
November 7, 2008

I've had this jacket for about 7 months and I really like it. I have the Branson Blue color and I get compliments on it all the time. It seems to work for everything except for standing in a torrential downpour at a football game for 3 hours straight. It was my best friend when I worked at camp this summer because it is extremely packable and I just put it in my bag each morning and threw it on during the afternoon rains we seemed to get almost every day. I do wish the hood was a little bigger because when I'm trekking across campus in the rain I have to lean forward so my face doesn't get wet. Overall, nice jacket for the price.

I bought this jacket for my daughter to take to London on a school trip in April. The weather was 50's and rainy. She said it was "Perfect!" Not too bulky, and kept her warm and dry.

Takes bad weather like a champ!

By:
June 13, 2008

I love the jacket. I wore it on a storm chase and it kept me dry without being too hot. The fit was true to size. My only complaint is the Kelpie Green color is more of a sea foam instead of the sage color in the picture. It is the perfect spring and summer shower jacket!

Good Jacket, but not the most waterproof

By:
August 22, 2008

I had this jacket, and my fiance has the mens North Face Venture jacket. We went to Alaksa, and mine held up pretty good most of the time. Though when we were in heavy constant rain mine allowed water to soak through at the shoulders, while his did not. I like the jacket and it's great for misty mornings, or when you are just running from your car to a building, but if you are going to be in the rain alot I'd opt for the Venture.

I don't usually write reviews, but I told myself I would after using this jacket. It is lightweight but keeps you warm. The hood is easy to take out and put back. Just nothing wrong with it. Very glad to have it.

Great Jacket

By: Backcountry.com Alumni
June 6, 2006

I love this jacket. I haven't skied in it yet in the springtime but I did go out during some nasty rain and wind. The jacket did great, kept the wind out so I was warm enough and I stayed totally dry.

A great three season jacket, I wouldn't wear it in the wintertime just because I like to be super warmer but it's fine for the rest of the year.
