Great shoes!

By:

I loved these shoes. Given the other reviews, I thought they would be uncomfortable at first, but they were comfortable from the beginning. I got my regular size and they fit perfectly. The grips on the soles are great.

North Face Gortex hiking shoes

By:
April 14, 2008

After I put inserts in these shoes, they were comfortable, and I think I'll use them when I walk around to break them in so that they will be ready for hiking trips this summer!

Gortex rocks!

By:
March 8, 2005

I've been looking for a pair of all-purpose hiking/cross-training shoes that were waterproof, but comfortable. These are the shoes. They are made with Gore-Tex so they keep the water out. However, I recommend putting a few coats of waterproofing spray to extend the life of the shoe. On a side note, I usually wear a 7 1/2 M so I ordered a 7 1/2 M...they fit perfect. These shoes are in the stores for $100 right now, so anything less than that is a steal!

Excellent Shoe

By:
October 11, 2005

I recently bought a pair of North Face Fury XCR footwear and they are the best pair of footwear I have ever owned. One day at a local mall I tried the North Face Fury XCR and I knew immediately they were exactly what I had been searching for. They are extremely lightweight with excellent construction, fit, feel, and quality of workmanship. They are advertised as an outdoor hiking shoe, but they are also an excellent walking shoe. I have owned several pair of walking shoes and the XCR’s are more comfortable than any of the walking shoes. I ordered another identical pair and stored them away for the future if these are no longer available. It will not be easy to find another pair as good as these. It would best to order ½ size larger than actual shoe size.

The Best Hiking Shoes

By:
October 24, 2005

This is my second pair of Fury Gore-Tex North Face shoes. There is little break-in period, wonderful support and comfort and they are totally waterproof. I walk a couple miles each day and hike around the Denver area and it's the best shoe I've found for my level of activity. I'm using my older pair as a garden shoe, which works great for digging and other garden chores.

Excellent trail runners

By:
July 26, 2006

An excellent trail runner, great for those muddy puddles. I've switched to boots for long trips, but these are great for climbing approaches and shorter hikes. The only thing I don't like about them is the lack of ankle support and a slight hotspot under my big toe.
