The North Face Flash Jacket - Women's - 2007

The North Face Women's Flash Down Jacket gives you the lightweight, high-loft insulation you need to stay toasty on your backcountry ski trek. We're still not quite sure how they made it so light, slim, and crazy-warm. One guess is the super-light and compact 850-fill down. This gives you cozy insulation without all the puffiness, which means you can easily layer the Flash Jacket under a shell for wet hiking and camping weather. The unique baffle-stitching pattern keeps the down in place and creates a slimmer look, and its scant 12oz weight makes the Flash Jacket hardly noticeable in your backpack.

Bottom Line: Fight the brutal chill of winter with The North Face Flash Down Jacket and its ultra-light 850-fill insulation.

Women's North Face Flash Jacket

Normally I probably wouldn't take the time to write a review but I had to this time. Backcountry's service was so awesome and shipping was so fast! I can't say enough about the service. The jacket is super cute and fits great. It's warm and cozy while not being too bulky. The color is perfect. I can't wait to wear it for snow season! Thank you so much!

Very flattering!

Most down jackets make you look like the Michelin Man. I got this one because it's flattering. Though it is marketed as a lightweight jacket for the backcountry, there are better (lighter) options for backpacking, such as the ultralight Montbell down jackets and the Mountain Hardwear one. However, this North Face one looks much better than the others, for just wearing around town.

Improvement needed

Positive: This coat is really good looking and flattering. It's not bulky at all and Light weight - which makes it very comfortable to wear. Also, it's very warm - I've been wearing it in Montana while the temperature was 32 F. (0 C) and I wasn't cold with it.
Negative: The feathers are coming out all the time! It's very irritating. It also makes me wonder how warm can I be when there are no feathers left in the coat....

Perfect Jacket

I got this jacket last winter and absolutely love it. I practically wore it every day, and every day I got a compliment on it. One guy loved it so much he asked where I got it from so he could buy one for his wife. It is surprisingly warm yet not overwhelmingly hot. The shape of it is great, makes every woman look thin. I love this jacket the most because it goes with everything, you can ski in it, snowshoe, or go out to dinner. The inside of the collar is really soft so it doesn't rub on your chin. I've seen it in the other colors and they are all beautiful. This is a great alternative to the normal super puffy jackets.
