The North Face Dolomite Transformer Jacket - Men's - 2007
The North Face Men's Dolomite Transformer Jacket battles through nasty winter storms with ultra-durable HyVent fabric, and it turns into a backpack when you don't need to wear it. Instead of sweltering inside the bomber jacket while you ride in not-as-cold-as-the-forecast-predicted temperatures, just use the custom zippers and hidden shoulder straps to turn it into a small daypack with a stash pocket. If your burly February snow day turns bluebird after lunch, you won't even have to run to the car for different clothes thanks to The North Face's innovative design.
Bottom Line: Battle though monster storms and ride on crystal-clear days with The North Face Dolomite Transformer Jacket.
I got it on monday this week, i mean it's not extremely cold yet,but i tested it out in like 39 degree weather and i was walking around oblivious to the fact that it was cold outside. I advise and recommend that you by this jacket.
This jacket is great. The material is like no other you have seen before. Not to heavy- about 2lbs, for steep tech thats light. Back pack feature is not really needed ( at least for me). Only thing is, I was intending it to be a jacket, but it has no isolation only a nylon liner. I used it to ride (my bike) around the city and no wind got through. Futher, I was sweating in it. In dead winter you will need a fleece or sweater under to insolate. Again, its more of a super spring jacket, and with a fleece under your ready to fight crime robo cop. I odered a medium and it fit right+ still had room for a fleece.
In new york, I see people wearing it, men and women. As Im browsing it for womens. I do not see any. do anyone know where I can find it at, or do anyone know a jacket that is similar in womens and mens?
this is a great coat... one of a kind none like it, the sleves zip off with ease and it vents well for those days that are not too cold, i got it figuring that i would have the new hot Sh*t and never see anyone else with it, but i was surprised to see someone else with the same coat the first day i went skiing this year, great coat all around, if you have the loot to spend get it!
Just back from skiing in Les Arcs, France. This is a very light and comfortable ski jacket. With some insulated underwear and a fleece shirt underneath it will keep you warm, when others start to shake. A design which makes you collect compliments from colleague skiers. Just one small detail to keep in mind for the 'après-ski'; because of the sideward zippers, one side of the jacket lies on the floor when hanging it over the back of you chair. For me the best jacket ever.
Unless you're on the verge of a small shirt I'd got for the large. You'll have a little extra room which will be nice for those wicked cold days when you'll want to layer a bit.
Just received my dolomite transformer in black sz M. I normally wear L in TNF products but read that the transformer jackets run a little big. This jacket fits perfectly! looks great on the streets and on the mountains. I'm really digging all the pockets EVERYWHERE! great for hiding the ipod, , the cellphone, chew bars, goggle wipes, etc. not only does the jacket look wickedly cool the material is heavy duty, especially the the shoulders. Can't wait until this this winter where i can truely rip into this jacket on the slopes.
Here in Steamboat where mornings on the slopes start out below zero, the coat along with a couple of sublayers is perfect. When the temps climb 30+ degrees by mid-afternoon however, the vest or the backpack features are greatly appreciated. Also volunteer as a gate judge for some of the local races and like having lots of easily accessible pockets for clipboards, pens and other necessities. 6'3", 195 - XL fits wonderfully.
When are you going to put up pictures of the pop pink/aqua jacket?? I saw it on drjays.com but they don't have small sizes I just want to make sure it's the same product.
The reason for my return of the Dolomite is, that it was too big. Insread I've got a The North Face Apogee XXL and a The North Face Agency XXL. They fit, and they are functioning extremely well. And then.....it's funny to be the only man in Europe that have these jackets.....by the way my name is Torben Kromann (Christine Haastrup brought the Dolomite for me from LA)
